New Asics Court FF 2

The new Court FF 2 is now available to purchase, though it's not at TW yet. I'm wondering how the fit is compared to the original Court FF. Most people went down a half size in the FF, so the question is whether or not that will be necessary on the FF 2. I personally like the color scheme, but I think I like the blue Novak FF 2 more. Hopefully, both colors will be readily available soon. Thoughts?

The black colorway is $159.95 right now at the other site. It does show retail price is $170 though, so not sure what TW will sell it for.

Did anyone happen to try these on yet to see what the sizing is like? I know Asics has been selling the blue Novak colorway for a while, but they're currently out of stock on their website.

those shoe laces look very skinny and crappy. they will put pressure on your foot

The first generation Court FF laces were also very skinny, but the booty construction, after you actually got into the shoes, was so comfortable that the shoelaces almost felt like they were not there and sometimes I did not even notice that they came loose.

There's a 'PlayTest: Djokovic Asics Court FF 2019' review video on Youtube. Ask the guys in the comment or on their channel how it is, compared to other shoes. One of them is still playing in them judging by their Instagram photos.

I'm not judging if their reviews are good or not. In any case, currently there aren't many places to ask about this shoes. So my point was that these guys at the least have a first hand experience of them and could have the answer to the OP's question.

I appreciate the link. I think I’ll probably wait on some more reviews from people here before I make a purchase.

I still play in my original ff court indigo blue they are still holding up. I tried on the new ones in the Melb store here during AO. To me they seem to fit like the 1st gen. I normally wear size 12us but 11.5 seems perfect for my narrow foot.
There's one vote for going down a half size. Thanks for the info.

They look great, and if Novak Djokovic is wearing them the line will surely continue! This is my favorite tennis shoe of all time. Very good news!

Agree 100%. I have 3 sets of the Asics Court FF after wrecking my toes in Barricades. I keep the laces tied reasonably tight with a heel-lock loop at the top and double knots to avoid tying/re-tying. They stay very tight and slide on no problem with a shoe horn. Once on, my feet are locked in and extremely well cushioned. I am getting ~4-5 months of play on a pair and I play 12-18 hours per week!

The only thing I have an issue with is the insoles...they wear out after a couple months so I swap them out with an aftermarket set.

I asked them simple questions few weeks ago but they never answered. Probably cause I didn't pay to become a VIP member. Not very friendly...

is it easier to get into than FF court 1 ?? I thought FF 1 was kind of hard to get into and it felt too low to the ground, so I returned it.

My occasional hitting buddy has been using the new FF Djokovic for 2+ months and the front toe area split with the upper and had to be glued back. I suspect the original glue deteriorated in high heat and humidity. It's a pity as I liked the new color scheme. Now I'll just wait until more reports come in.

I prefer Novak's color. But to play on clay the dark color is probably better. But still kind of disappointed.

The colors so far are nothing spectacular, when they launched the orginal I liked the first indigo blue version, followed by the yellow and black. Let's just hope they perform as good as the original version. If they introduce nicer colors that will be just a bonus.

I don't see it in TW website. are you srue these shoes are out already ?
It's said to be released next month.

Does that mean it's no longer a unisex shoe? Could you let us know what site you are looking at?
TW: I promise to purchase them here. :)
It appears so. :( Let's see.

I found it on regional pages of the asics official, plus on a well-known Japanese web store which also selling the above black-orange-neon yellow one with omni clay outsole.

Omni courts have unique pattern not like traditional herringbone clay. So what is omni clay?

I have no idea. I guess there's a specific demand for it in Japan and it won't be available anywhere else.

How does the FF compare to Boost ?
I switched from the Adidas Barricade Boost to the first version of the Court FF. They both have great cushioning, never had knee problems with either shoe, but the Court FF is more comfortable, more secure fitting, and lighter. The only advantage I'd give to the Barricade Boost is durability.

I really liked the comfort of the first Court FF, but felt like I was always tilted forward toward my toes. It really threw off the rhythm of my strokes.

I'm curious if these will feel the same, or if the underfoot feel has changed at all.

What's the difference between
Gel Court FF & Asic Gel Resolution 7 ?
The biggest differences are: 1) booty construction, and 2) FlyteFoam. In other words, more secure fit (no heel slippage), lighter weight, and better cushioning for the Court FF. The Gel Res is more durable, and maybe more stable since it's not as high off the ground, and it's easier to get your feet into them.
