New Dunlop racquets on the way - SX Spin Series

I have 3 Revo 3.0 and all within 1 gram statically and balance is nearly identical..I'd say that's pretty remarkable by today's standard..

I just bought the CV Revo 3.0 and had three racquets measured by Tennis Warehouse Europe before buying.....

Unstrung specs where:

Weight: 301,5 - 306,7 grams
Swingweight: 280 - 296
Balance: 31,5 - 32,5

I’m interested in a frame that has pure drive like power but not the stiffness (I’m in my 50s), lots of spin potential but is forgiving like Wilson’s new clash. It’s just that Wilson’s quality control is all over the board so I’m intrigued by this new Dunlop racquet.

Interesting. My random thoughts: The cosmetic looks nice. The swing weights are high for a "spin friendly" frame: 326 for the regular version and a hefty 336 for the Tour. The PA Tour is 327 and even the PA+ is only 330. It looks like they retained the variable cross string spacing from the CX series, rather than just opening everything up. The rest of the specs and even the beam dimensions strongly suggest they benchmarked the 2019 Pure Aero; it seems like the Dunlop has just a touch more flex and heavier swingweight but otherwise very similar on paper. It will be interesting to hear how they stack up subjectively on the court.

Tennisnerd has released a sneak preview on them on his Patreon page. Dunno when it's gonna be available for less well-off mortals like me. There are a few Japanese reviews already out there and according to them the frames don't feel too stiff at all.

Just hit a demo SX300 tour. I have the CX200+, and the SX300T probably has a bit more launch angle, despite being only in the 320ish (I'm guessing) swing weight range. Sweetspot is ok. I find the SX300T easy to swing and probably has more power than the CX200+ stock.
The spin aspect is 'meh'. Perhaps it was the strings, but unfortunately without Playsight verification, and apples to apples comparison with the same strings, I don't think there was much better bite, other than the lighter and bigger head doing some extra work. It suffers from the same issue as the CX range, in that the center 7 cross strings make the racquet feel less powerful than when the ball hits the top half of the hoop.
This demo had Poly Tour Pro 1.25 in it , so it was plush for a polybed. The racquet itself is comfortable to hit but does not quite have the same feel as the CX200+. They have offered to restrung the demo with my strings, if I provide them, so maybe if I can get a Playsight court, it'll be a better way to evaluate the racquet.

Yeah the Revo CV 3.0 is such a great racquet. Too bad it isn't more appreciated. Rare for a tweener it has great feel, touch, and control. I currently have 2 weighted to 325sw/11.9oz and am thinking about getting another one. The paint job doesnt bother me at all - I actually like the yellow/black colorway lol.

How close were your two frames spec wise?

I didnt check the weight as I was going to weigh them up regardless. But I was very particular about the SW. I first bought 3, one sw was 288 unstrung, the other 2 were 300 and higher. I couldn't stand the high sw ones, sold both and ordered another from TW with spec match of 296.

Tennisnerd just shared his review. He said his test SX300 was north of 330 on the swingweight, and the Tour was about 340. I find those numbers pretty shocking given the competition and the goal of high swing speeds for spin. It's going to feel like a brick when tested back to back with the Pure Aero and Head Extreme.

That SW of 340 must be too much for a spinny racquet? I wonder what those two, yet unrevealed lines will be. They've now covered control (CX) and spin (SX). Next, extreme power for traditional flat hitters?

I looked at the Revo 3.0 F Tour and it looks like a PA in disguise. Is it as uncomfortable and inaccurate? Which Biomimetic was closest to it, 500, 600?

PX line for power? Or maybe FX for force? Or BX for Bam!? No idea what the other one could be. FX for feel? VX for volley? GX for Grandpa? OX for oversize? TX for tweeners? I could use a racquet dedicated to my tweeners...

The TW review is up. The testers weren’t particularly enthusiastic and there was an odd contradiction between some of them claiming it is stiff and tinny, and others saying muted and comfortable. Surprisingly, the Pure Aero comparison was never made.

I switched my coaches contract to dunlop since my club just got a contract with them for balls

I got 2 sx300t and 2 cx200+

Love both sticks.

I found stringing the sx at 48 with explosive spin to feel better as it had a lot of power but not quite enough while the longbody of the cx preferred a 51-52 to keep my balls from sailing

2 of my juniors already switched out of pure Aeros to the sx because of the comfort aspect of it

Nice videos and hitting with a true horror movie scenery. :) So, what's your verdict on the racquet and which version was that, the 300 or the 300 Tour?
300 tour

Top tier racket

Like it more than a pure drive and it’s a monster off the baseline and serving.

Easily one of the best rackets I’ve ever played with and I am going to say that’s a tough endorsement to get from me.

Then I guess a 27,5 inch 300 will be a serving King Ghidorah, if you can swing it fast of course. Dunlop makes quality frames, love my cx200+.

Did you perhaps play a Pure Aero or Pure Drive (Tour) before? If so, how does the 'feel' aspect compare to sx 300?

My racket history is kind of all over the place

In high school I used the gt Roddick+ leaded to 14 oz all in the hoop. I then switched to a tfight 325 leaded up to 360 grams, my last racket in juniors was a head graphene radical and the specs were 348 grams with cap grommets and 365 swingweight. These were all unstrung specs by the way.

Then in college I switched to the Stars and Stripes pure aero vs, I had it leaded up to 330 grams 4pts hl.

Last year I played with the pure drive vs leaded up to around 330 grams all in the hoop.

Now I’ve switched to dunlop. The feel on this racket is amazing, the flex is strange so it feels like it pockets the ball more.

Pure drives feel like they have less contact with the ball so I don’t feel the same control.

Biggest takeaway is it’s a pure drive but better, very similar to the ezone ai98s I used to have.

Interesting that the tour seemed to get a much better reception than the regular SX300. Totally different play testers of course. I have a demo of the regular SX300 coming that I plan to benchmark against the Pure Aero 2019. I liked the feel of the CX200 when I playtested it, so if the SX has a similar feel but more Pure-Aero-like performance then it could be a winner. I felt that the regular CX200 (not the Tour) was a bit anemic in stock form for my game.

Alright, I put in a solid 6 hours over the weekend on my sticks

Currently I have 3 dunlop sticks from my contract, all on the first stringing, all strung with yellow explosive spin, all strung at 49 pounds.

Big takeaways,

Cx200+ has great feel and is very whippy and solid. This is actually the reason I signed with Dunlop.

Sx300tour- better pocketing, noticeable string movement and I did have to readjust the mains but only in the sweetspot. Weird, never had to do that on any other racket(including the cx200+)

Alright now little things, spin potential, so I was told my ball was heavier and better with the cx200+ than with my customized pure drive vs.... I also noticed more power.....having said that, I get a ton more spin with the sx300tour and wayyy more stability, which I did not expect.

Having been playing with the extended racket I was used to contact about an inch higher than normal on the string bed and I did adjust, but I noticed a big difference in that alone. The stringbed has more power in the dead center and slightly below it. It also has more stability in those spots, I found my volleys to be more crisp once I adjusted or even if I hit them towards the throat.

Serving, I am serving rockets with the sx300, however it is crucial to hit it with the sweetspot, I usually like to hit it a little above as I am a little short but with this racket I was getting enough spin that the point of contact didn’t make my serves sail at all.

Finishing remarks, this racket is one of the best rackets I’ve played with and it reminds me of when I used my sisters leaded up ai98s. I highly recommend this racket, and if you’re into pure drives then this will feel like a pure drive on steroids with the ball pocketing.

I tested the sx300tour against cx200+ and my PAT
Strung with unidentified hybrid
Best racquet of the bunch in the back of the court and on volleys.
Stable, light, exceptional feel that reminded me the max 200 G....
Fan-Tas-Tic racquet....I might switch

Just played one hour with the SX300 tour.
Love it.
Very similar to my Clash 100 tour, but I slightly prefer the Dunlop.
I’m wondering if I can have some elbow issue with this frame ?
It doesn’t like stiff to me ( even if it’s 64RA)
Love the weight balance.

Great racquet by Dunlop

The string signmum pro x-perience 1.18 work very well on 2020 sx300 tour。This racquet is more friendly to rising point strikes than the 2019 PA.
