Nike Air Zoom Zero official release

coming out Thursday...Hopefully TW gets em in stock so I can try to get a pair by the weekend.

It says durability was something they had in mind but from the pictures, it looks like a very shallow tread...I'd still want to try a pair. Looks good and comfy enough to wear outside the courts too once the soles a bit too worn out.

The only colors launching on July 19th is black for men and white for women. There will be another color launch right before the US Open. The shoes will not have a six month durability guarantee.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

Damn I really liked the white colorway. What size do they go up to? I’m guessing 12.

Smart move Nike, only releasing a black colorway in the middle of summer

I keep trying to give these guys my money but they insist on failing.

Sounds like there will also be a tan/pink color for the US Open

Thanks for the info, but man that's a bummer on the warranty.

Is the upper similar to Flyknit?

Saw them today at my local tennis shop, he had them on display, he said I could try them on, but he couldn’t sell them to me until Friday. I didn’t bother with trying them on...black tennis shoes aren’t really my cup of tea. They have a sort of sock liner thingy though...and didn’t feel heavy.

Oh well I’ll wait till a white Men’s version comes out

The upper is a different material than FlyKnit. As far as sizing goes, all playtesters stayed in their normal size as the length and width were standard. We did note that the half-bootie construction can make it difficult to get the shoes on your feet (think similar or worse the Asics Gel Court FF) but once the shoes are on, we didn't have any fit issues.

Is nike getting out of tennis business? They seem like they stopped trying. At the same time, I just found out that the adidas Uber Sonic 3 has a PU midsole. That's comfort right there.

We have not heard of Nike leaving the tennis business. It just seems to be a trend that brands are slowly leaning away from the outsole warranty guarantee. We believe the Zoom Zeros are supposed to launch around the same time in Europe (give or take a couple days). The shoes weigh 13.8 ounces for a size 10.5.

Its a shoe not an umbrella or a shirt. Its going to be hot as balls on the court anyway... the color of your shoe wont matter too much

You dont play where I live. It's 100 degrees+ with humidity and small things like black or white shoes make a difference in a long match.

Adria Cot,

It does not appear that there will be a clay version (at least for the rest of 2018).

Thanks,

Brittany,

What were playtesters’ thoughts on breathability of the upper? Seems pretty dense compared with recent materials eg Vapor X.

Thx.

These shoes were already on the shelf and for sale in Miami. I saw them personally yesterday at Tennis Plazs in midtown Miami.

The price was $105. On sale from $130

Ordered! Who's excited?
Ordered a pair myself as well. Hoping the fit is okay cause I have flat feet so I plan to put in my own insoles to hopefully mitigate some of it...will have to see when i testfit and get them.

The treads on the outsole look to be pretty shallow from pictures, so hopefully I can get a better look when I get them. Dont really wanna stick with a shoe if it'll wear out in month, no matter how comfy it is...

peteyswift,

Yes, the playtesters found the uppers of the Zoom Zero to be less breathable/ventilated compared to the Vapor X.

Hi, I was looking at TW Europe, and saw that the zoom zero was up on that site. I thought they would come out a day or two later than TW in the US. Is this a mistake on the TW Europe site or are they really in stock there now?
Thanks

BamosDomi11,

Sorry for any confusion, I meant the Zoom Zeros would launch at TWE right around the same time as TW (they have different rules for posting so I wasn't 100% sure if it would be exactly today). It looks like the shoes won't be in stock for a week there but you can still order them (like a pre-sale).

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

I ordered my regular 9.5 and a 10. Hope they fit well in one of these sizes!

I'm most excited about the comfort (or the promise of it with the new Zoom Air implementation). The tread is interesting... will have to see how it performs for me and my play style.

Same as you. Looking forward to the comfort factor. The design certainly reminds me of a basketball shoe.

I considered ordering 2 sizes as well but went with the size ordered for my Cage 3s. I'll probably swap out for thicker insoles which will give me a slightly tighter fit if its loose. The bootie construction will probably help prevent any major foot slippage as well.
