It's unclear at this point. He will either skip the rest of the season or show up at Vienna.
I guess he will probably skip and let his shoulder heal instead of risking further injury.

He should've split long time ago because he seemed to have plateaued under Dante's wing (and Chang for that matter). After 9 years Nishikori's serve is still one of the worst in men's tour. Even some WTA players have better serve than Kei.
Perhaps his traditional Japanese upbringing values loyalty above all, but that might have cost him a GS title or at least better career during his prime time.
If he can stay healthy 5 or so more years he may have another chance, but it'll get tougher because the next torch bearers are maturing their game as well.

So... what do we do with these 127 million Nishi fans? Do we ignore them as "small number coz less than 170"? Or do we accept that Nishikori is a huge star in Asia?
