Novak Djokovic: possibility of the following things happening

Below there are some interesting things Novak could do. Each one of the guarantees him a record or undone before accomplishment.

1) 7 WTF titles -beating Federer's former record of 6

2) 7 Miami titles - beating Agassi's former record of 6

3) Cincy title - becoming the first player to win all 9 masters events.

Now I will adress you 2 questions:

1. Which do you want Novak to achieve the most

2. The possibility of Djokovic realizing each one of them.

You have the word.

Pretty clear that 7 WTFs would be the greatest achievement out of the achievements you listed.

Also he could be hunting for the year end #1 record. Passing petes 6.

I think the second one isn't far fetched.

Unfortunately IMO, Federer's 302 weeks at no.1 is out of the equation for him.

Threads like this really enhance my reputation as a curmudgeon.

A thread about 'interesting things Novak could do'. Reading that, I had a very homophobic thought. I have a 3rd question for you instead.

Why does Djokovic fascinate you so? A player whose game is more predictable than a Russian presidential election and holds less excitement than red worm farming.

Undone accomplishment. Fitting.

As a more casual Djokovic fan, I would like to see him win Cincy and complete the Masters set.

I do think winning the WTFs would be a better achievement, but not as cool to me.

Hate to break it to you Russel but real men don't tend to have any homophobic thoughts, they simply get on with their lives and allow gay people to do the same. You should take a leaf out of their book some day.

This thread is seriously mild as Djokovic threads go.
I don't really see anything wrong with the OP's post, even if continuing to discuss how much Novak is going to win all the time is rather boring.

Please tell me more about what real men do.

There's an interview on youtube of Becker and Edberg together. They both remember how many Wimbledon titles they have and more than likely they also remember which other slams they won and how many. Tellingly in the interview the interviewer has to tell them how many titles in total they have. Neither knew which speaks volumes about how important these other titles are for multislam champions.

Not only you showed yourself worthy having reputation of a curmudgeon, but your fanboy tinted glasses are making you look even more miserable -

Of the three listed in the OP, it's pretty clear that 1 > 3 > 2. WTFs are on a different level to Masters 1000s, which makes seven of them better than a comparable Masters achievement. Cincy and Miami are on a par with each other, roughly, but winning all of them once each would outrank winning a particular one of them seven times. If Miami were the only one that Novak might get the record for, I might think differently. But Novak also has a chance of becoming the record holder of Indian Wells titles - in fact, he already holds that record jointly with Federer. So, one Cincy title would be a bigger deal than two more Miamis, in my view.

I would think a RG would be the biggest item on the outstanding list for Djokovic. I am not a big fan but hope he gets a RG.

I think all those you listed would be impressive but RG is far and away bigger.

He has a very good shot at WTF and Miami as they are both rather slow hard courts which suit his style. Since Federer is an old man, he also has a good shot at Cincy too.

If you're going to share, I will humour you. I believe it is always a mark of a dignified character to control one's emotions even if one is by nature inclined to be more reserved.

He wouldn't really be breaking any of those records. A lot of those events used to be best of 5 finals. It would be like someone beating Usain Bolt's 100m record by running an 80m race.

Cinci is, he keeps making finals there, just has to not face Fed one year.
I think Murray would beat him at Cincy too though. And as the trend currently is, if Federer doesn't make the final Murray does.

Murray is better relatively on fast HC than DJ, but it's a wash overall I think and Id favor Novak slightly at this stage in their careers.

As if anyone cares about this meaningless stat? The other two options are viable, especially Novak suprassing Pete and Roger for most YEC's. But Miami? WTF cares??

Wishlist (from most wanted to least wanted): 7 YEC, Cincy, 7 Miami titles

Cincy: Needs to play a little better in Cincy, specially in finals. 60% chance.
7 Miami titles: Needs 2 more. 40% chance.
7 YEC: Needs 3 more. I give him 20% chance

Do you even care about tennis? Every tournament is meaningless in your world.

Assuming a tournament that requires winning five matches, the difference is 10 sets vs 11 sets total.

1 cincy title - sure , he's good enough to win one there
7 miami's - considering his slow HC prowess and his play at Miami, won't mind him getting that ..

7 YEC's - Mother of God, hope not !!

indoor conditions are supposed to be fast and they slowed down the medium London YECs even further after 2010 .....( fed won in 11, djoko in 12-14 )

I have a feeling they'll speed up the courts at the YEC this year. Just a hunch.

If Novak does get the YEC record he'll deserve it abmk, just as he deserves all his AO titles. It's not his fault the surface was slowed down and at the end of the day it's still indoor conditions.

it isn't his fault ...just that circumstances have favored him here ....its called luck ...

as we can see, fed still can beat him handily in fast conditions in a BO3 - dubai 14, 15, shanghai 14, cincy 15 ...

if he wins it 7 times, he wins it 7 times ... I just hope he doesn't. He isn't that good enough indoors

Well if he goes on to win the event 7 times he obviously will be.
