Its not really that difficult to understand.
In his last 2 AO's Djokovic retired because of the bad conditions. He didn't retire against Tsonga but he sure wasnt feeling great.
Roland Goras is a different story. The final of RG was actually played on 05/16/2009 known as: Semi-final Madrid Nadal vs Djokovic so he did make the finals.
We all know Djokovic has shoes wich are not suited for grass. They are very slippery and thats the main reason he lost to haas at Wimbledon.
USO he lost to federer in straight sets....... there is no real excuse here.
Federer played great tennis here and made a fool out of Djokovic.
He was producing impossible shots all the time. Djokovic couldnt find a answer that and thats why he lost.

>_> How many damn excuses are you going to make? I like Djokovic, he's one of my favorite players to watch, but damn, some of these are just.....wtf

I defend Djokovic because there are too many haters out there. Murray is an exeption.

J.Blake I hope u did catch my madrid joke... and I never said Djokovic would win wimbledon if he had the right shoes. What im trying to say is he would have done it better. He was sliding all over the court.

don't you think a true professional would know what shoes to bring to wimbledon? I mean it wasn't like he was j p mcenroe who at 17 found himself in the semis. Please sir. No more lame excuses that just make you look rather foolish to sensible minded people.

It's not the shoe's fault, it's Djokovic who can't properly move his feet on grass.

Djokovic tries to play and move the same way on all surfaces (sliding on clay, hardcourt and grass).

Nole can play on grass just wait for him
Sure he can, Queens 2008 is the best and most obvious example.

He still doesn't change his game and footwork for the surface. Against most players he doesn't need to, but against Federer/Nadal or a very well playing underdog like Haas that's not enough.

Its very frustrating when u slide when you're not suppose to.
Djokovic himself admitted he wasnt really happy with his shoes...

His shoes were fine. He had a grass sole on his shoes. It's appalling how you can even suggest that this was the reason he lost to Haas.

Look closely, his shoes have dimples on the bottom. Grass court shoes have those circular shaped dots. There's no reason why Djokovic would be unhappy with them.

Looks like i'm the only one convinced here that Djokovic's shoes are causing trouble. This is btw the last post i will make about his shoes untill he wins wimbledon with his new ones :)

lol. I personally think Djokovic won't win Wimbledon until he gets his act together and beat the top guys like Nadal, Federer, Roddick and Murray on grass.

I'd put him 5th behind those 4.

Did anyone else notice that he has a some of that Kinesio tape on his right shoulder? Maybe that is one of his problems with the serve.

Federer is the only one i'm worrieng about.
Nadals chances to win something other than RG are very slim.
Murray will keep failing and failing and failing... This will continu until he retires.
Roddick is atm second best on grass.
so my list goes like this:
1 Federer
2 Roddick
3 Djokvic
4 Nadal
5 Murray

Laughable list really. Putting a Wimbledon champion behind a semi finalist is foolish. And Murray has proven he can win on grass with his Queens title.

I don't know about his game.

My problem is with his on court antics. The guy is such a faker, my god that "performance" on Sunday was just despicable and horrible.

I was utterly disgusted really. I hoped the guy would be a class act and have the decency and compensate for the very rude crowd, but no, he just rolled along with it.

That's not the attitude to have on court. Keep your acting skills off the court. You're a tennis player, not a clown.

He slides on HC too. Like someone else said, he slides on every surface as if it were clay. And if you don't like the shoes, get new shoes. Simple.

i think although his ranking is as high as never before he has not improved since 2007&2008. in the past his game was sharp and precise, but now it looks that his game could colapse in any moment.
there is also a change in his technique, obvious in the serve and also his great second serve to the backhand in the ad court is gon. but also his technique on the forehand side changed slighty but clear. maybe (pure speculation) he has realy changed his racquet in some ways. if i remember correctly his racquet was relativle light in the beginning of his carrer and relativle spin unfriendly (you never know what they really play with, but his radical had "lm bumper (?)) so his grip was really extrem western to get spin and his backhand very precise. now he plays with a very flexible and heavy sw racquet and seems to get easier spin (slighltly less extrem grip) but the precision is not ther any more.

He never switched racquets. Head made him the same mold he had with Wilson.

Maybe it is his service motion that is causing the need for kinesio tape. That service motion is really ugly.

The Rafa we knew was better on grass no question about that, but you have to accept that old Rafa is not coming back.
Murray has proven nothing on grass if Roddick wasnt injured he would have whooped his ass. And remember queens is much faster than wimbledon.

Murray has improved every year he's played Wimbledon. His win/loss ratio on grass is excellent. 1st ATP match win, 1st grand slam match win, 1st win over a top 15 player, 1st slam quarter - all on grass.

Murray can play on the green stuff. It took an A+ Roddick to beat him and a couple of TBs to beat him last year.

He'll be there or thereabouts again this year.

Sure he has improved I dont question that, but saying hes better than djokovic makes me wanna puke.
There was only one man who was stopping Djokovic from getting his Wimbledon title and that man was Haas.

I don't know why Djokovic has had such disappointing Wimbledon's the past two years. He made the semifinals in 2007 and his game should suit grass nicely.

As for his current form this season. To be honest, so far it's the exact same as last season when everyone was saying he was playing like crap (Quarters in Australia, winner in Dubai). But then he came out and made the finals of Miami and then tore up the clay court season.

He's better than Novak on grass - Novak doesn't move great on grass. Novak is much better on clay though.

That semi final against Nadal in Madrid hurt him for a long time, and hurt as well Nadal. But Djokovic played Haas who was playing great tennis and Djoker was on his down side,as well in RG when he lost to Kolschreiber.
Current season,he needs to improve a lot, because his results have been under an incredible amount of stress.Things need to be smoother.

He will not be number 1,you can forget about this one.If somebody has the potential to be number one and dethrone Fed is Del Potro. That's the guy who can outplay Federer by pace.

I'm sorry, why must we accept that? Is there something written in stone somewhere that I must have missed that declares he will never again return to his best? Do tell.

Djokovic is a nice guy, i just don't enjoy watching his antics on court. I do sincerely hope he can lift his game and play like he did in 07/08 and win a few big titles. Adje Nole! :)

When was the last time Rafa won a tournament or came even close?
Let me tell you this if Federer, Djokovic or Murray are playing on a hardcourt surface Rafa is as good as dead. He doesn't even stand a chance against Davydenko let alone those 4, same goes on grass.
I cant predict what he will do on clay, but if he doesnt win RG then its safe to say hes dead.

What do you mean?
I mean if Haas plays his game Djokovic cant beat him on grass.

In 2008 he lost to Safin in an early round. As much as Safin is not the complete GOD some of his worshippers make him out to be, he has the potential to beat nearly anyone on any surface when he is on (well everyone on hard courts, nearly everyone on clay or grass). Unfortunately for Djokovic that was one of those days.

In 2009 he had an insanely easy draw which probably hurt him when he ran into Haas who was atleast 2 levels higher than anyone he played until the quarters. Being that he was in Federer's half and he cant even beat Federer at the U.S Open it seems, his chances of going beyond the semis were virtually nil so only one round short of his max result, not all that bad come to think of it.

What happened to Djokester?
I don;t think he is feeling well, there is something wrong with him.He is about to lose to Philip,he is double faulting more than Dementieva, has no power on his shots, too much spin,,this guy is in serious trouble.i can't stand watching his matches anymore, too much drama against almost anybody, too defensive and painful against everybody.
it's just awful,.i wanted him to do well here in America!

Djokovic had a close call against Philip Kolshreiber, but couldn't escape of this one. That's awful,i think his game is too limited.
