Omala Sentinel pundekabaal ... Are you someone that knows me personally but pretending to be a stranger? This is getting absurd now o_O

Yes, I graduated with an engineering degree in electronics and communications. It's a long story but to make it short, I was so bad at it, I quickly plunged into the world of IT :)
I thought you were too smart to be in IT :(

Never heard you talking IT. Any weigh, welcome to our gang.

That is quite close to the diameter of Jupiter.
Maybe they are talking of something else.

Surely the scientists would have pointed out this issue.

Maybe the moon has reduced in size over the last 3000 years from the size of Jupiter to the current size. Consdering it is made of cheese, maybe you have been eating it all this time.

Which implies that Earth once was a moon of Moon, and after a while things switched.
The moon got sew small that Sabooshs had two my grate to Earth, mutch lyke hymn leafing Chennai four ‘Murica.

Moast young men do not discover Samoosh until mid-puberty or during their 1st year of college depending on if the boy’s parents pre-exposed them to the drop volley.
The luckiest boys have early puberties, so they may enjoy their Sattoush discovery with an accompanying enhanced pilosity process.

The 11000 yojana may be a wrong calculation but the almanacs that are made every year with accurate calculation of eclipses, sunrise, sunset timings is quite fascinating and is done on the basis of Vedic math. Not everything in the past was wrong and neither everything in the present world is perfect.
Twenty yugas ago I worked on an app that calculated planetary positions, and we used to confirm it with (i think it was) the Lahiri Ayanamsa. Tonnes of scientific/mathematical calculations to get to the same numbers as they had.

As far as I can guess, if they've been calculating lunar and planetary positions correctly for centuries then they probably knew that the moon orbits the earth and that the earth orbits the Sun long before Europe knew about it. My guess.

Farting can be embarrassing, but we're humans and humans need to pass gas.

However, there's some good news amidst the stinky clouds: farting is actually good for your relationship.

According to a 2016 survey by Mic (resurfaced by Scary Mommy), being comfortable enough to let loose a stinker is a critical step in making the transition from just liking someone, to being in love with that person.

The website surveyed more than 125 people in their 20s and 30s to find out when most people "break the fart barrier" and found that "most people wait between two and six months into a relationship, which also happens to be prime 'I love you' time."

Results showed that a little more than half of survey respondents (51 per cent) had farted in front of their significant other in six months or less of dating, while 22.4 per cent let one loose after a few weeks and 29 per cent tooted between two to six months.

And 25.2 per cent of respondents claimed they waited between six to 12 months to fart, when they said they felt really comfortable with their partner.

So basically, if you feel comfortable enough to cut the cheese in front of your significant other, it means you're in a really good place in your relationship.

Just imagine if servers began timing out Sauronesh after the first bite.
Imagine the impacked on the planet, and the "poop every other day" initiative.
And that thing they call globle worming.

Let's leave Srshs secks life out of this.
:(
Once souresh was having dinner at P Chang's.
Someone was hiding in the far corner massaging him.

"OMG souresh you are looking so sec see tonight."

"Too bad you are with your secretary"

Souresh was looking hither and thither to see who was sending him massages.

It was a lot funnier than it sounds. Luckily souresh did not catch Dali otherwise things could have gotten heated between them.

@Sentinel @Sunny Ali @Azure What am I missing here?

According to below, diameter of moon is 11000 * 12.2 = 134200 km = 83875 miles.

The actual number is 2159 miles.

So Vedic Math got it wrong by a factor of 38.8?

Or is it just the case that today nobody in government can do anything without the blessings of Hindu holy men? I know there was a push to mandate Vedic Math to be taught in colleges, but it fizzled out due to opposition from academics.

Vedic math helped moon mission

Even as India revels in the giant strides its scientists made with the success of its second mission to the moon, it has not forgotten its Vedic roots. It has now emerged that before the launch of Chandrayaan-2, scientists from ISRO sought the advice of Puri Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati for his expertise in Vedic math. As the 145th Shankaracharya, he is also a reputed Vedic mathematician.
"There is a link between Earth, water and moon as explained in the Vayu Puran. We can also find mention of the distance between Earth and Moon in Vishnu Puran and Bhagvad Gita. As per the Bhishma Parva or the Book of Bhishma, the sixth books in the epic Mahabharata, the diameter of the Moon is 11,000 yojana (1 yojana = approx 12.2 km), and its circumference is 33,000 yojana. These were some of the Vedic calculations that the scientists hoped to incorporate into the lunar mission," said the Shankaracharya.

Suresh ...you must understand most humans are imperfect. Just as the big bang and the Darwin's theory of evolution are laughably wrong, there are things with Vedic math that are amusing to say the least, such as the one you posted above.

However if you were to take the essence of science or Vedic philosophy, there is much to be gained. As we continue our journey of Awakening, we ultimately come to the teachings of Saragrahi – the path of seeking the essence of Truth.

That is hard to believe judging by the language you have been using here. If you do read the Bhagavad Gita or any other sacred text, you should never mouth or even think the kind of words you have been using here.

Please don't use the word "gain" wrt our beloved Shouresh.
He has much to be reduced.

Vedic math is not what was quoted in books as is referenced in this article. Vedic math is a method for calculations just like when I give you two double digit numbers to multiply you automatically start multiplying the units place digits first etc. Vedic math has a different way of multiplying. It is like using abacus instead of matchsticks for addition. I did a bit of Vedic math. It's fun for simple calculations but tedious for longer ones. I know that in the present times some silly things are being quoted in the name of Vedic times by ignorant people but you might want to check what Fields medalist Manjul Bhargava has to say on the topic of relying on some clever work from the past-

https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.econ...-manjul-bhargava/amp_articleshow/64378591.cms

I have "studied" Vedic Math is a temple summer camp here. Mostly it is:

Approximations for stuff like areas for which the correct answer has been known for several centuries.
Special case lists for simplifying operations on long numbers which work only for those special cases and are useless otherwise.
Deliberate attribution of meaning to Sanskrit verses to reverse engineer them to claim they say something profound.

It was a great achievement for a society a few thousand years ago, but for government-funded scientists to consult with a guy who has been an outspoken Hindu fundamentalist is bad in itself, but then their scientific duty requires that they publicly correct him now, since the numbers are so wrong. But they will lose their jobs so they won't.

This is almost like the Creation museums here which show humans and dinosaurs playing together. Christians have no choice, since their religion relies on a book being totally true. Anything false means the religion collapses. But Hinduism and Buddhism are not like that and there is no need to make them like that.

The main problem is that they seem not to have pointed out the problem.

The moon was much bigger in the sky at one time - but that was long before humans arrived. It has moved back a lot by the time they did.

Agree.

Deliberate attribution of meaning to Sanskrit verses
This I do not know, may be your personal experience. I learnt it from my school math teacher who was not hindu (I studied in a Catholic school) and no sanskrit was quoted. It was merely some technique for multiplication, addition etc. Of course I stated in my original reply that it gets tedious with longer calculations.

By the way, your news source does not seem credible. I did not see one credible news site reporting this. DNA is a tabloid newspaper. I guess some trolls doing this.
