Former French Open champion Patrick McEnroe confirms he has coronavirus

The tennis commentator and former French Open doubles champion Patrick McEnroe has confirmed he has tested positive for Covid-19.

The 53-year-old announced the news in a video posted on his Twitter account. “We’ve been on full quarantine, our entire house now, for well over two weeks,” he said. “I encourage everyone to do the same. Let’s get this thing. Let’s nail this thing. I’m an example of someone who has been able to fight through it. I’m doing absolutely fine. Thoughts and prayers to people who are struggling with this.”

Because even in 80% of mild cases it feels like holy hell has broken into you?

One of my foreign friends had it and according to doctors his condition was mild, and he was advised to heal in self Quarantine.


He described it as having a 103 degree fever straight for 5 days, a cough that makes every bone ache, and a car on his chest. The migraine on first two days was like a hammer banging on his head.


Flu goes away in 3-4 days,and it feels pretty sucky to just have flu. The guy has spent 14 days, and is better now but it still hasn't gone away.

Which is both good and bad in reality. Good in the sense that the mortality rate is likely quite a bit lower than advertised. Bad in the sense that people with zero symptoms will compromise people that could die from it if they don’t listen and stay home.

How about a headache.. I can put it out there right now. Got the earache and the headache.....it hurts..... just thought everyone should know because its everyones duty to broadcast every little hurdle in life to make ourselves feel so important to complete strangers LOL.

In that way it's much like the flu. Some people get through it just fine, some get very severe cases.
Of course, Covid-19 is so much more dangerous because no one has immunity and it spreads like wildfire. And of course, the fatality rate is still quite a bit higher

It is too late for new York. Everyone has it and they just don't know it. I think new York should just do away with quarantine and open it up. You reach the Herd immunity much more quickly this way. I know what I am doing

25 year old Jack Smith ( with no medical problems) has a car accident and dies, and the post-mortem testing indicates that he has CoronaVirus-19, his cause of death is to be listed as "Covid-19".

This is what I mean when I say they can play with numbers all day. The data is flawed. So yes.... you could see all ages of people supposedly dieing from the virus. You could see inflated numbers.

Corona is more serious than the flu because some experience very severe symptoms. Hence all the lockdowns.
But based on the data from China, most will experience symptoms similar to the flu.
The flu is also deadly. The CDC estimates up to 60,000 Americans killed by the flu every year.

There is a degree of immunity in some people, which may explain their milder symptoms.

So you are wrong to claim some sort of universal immunity stemming from exposure to the common cold.

I can't see that there has been any excessive fear being created, and apart from some panic shopping the population has remained calm.
