Dangerous floater?

I could see some of these floaters causing upsets, those who have the level to fight the tough matches and come though don't have to much experience at GS level, and those that do are not yet fully fit or at a level of being able to go deep.

A seeded player is not a "floater"
Oh come on. Here are the lower seeds, none of whom have one chance in a million to hoist the trophy. These guys aren't floaters, they're way lower than that:

  • Botic van de Zandschulp
  • 23. Frances Tiafoe
  • 24. Francisco Cerundolo
  • 26. Borna Coric
  • 27. Lorenzo Musetti
  • 28. Karen Khachanov
  • 29. Holger Rune
  • 30. Tommy Paul
  • 31. Maxime Cressy
  • 32. Nikoloz Basilashvili

Seeded doesn't mean "dangerous" silly. It just means that they are tied down to a certain position on the tournament map (ie seeded, not a floater).

You think Coric is a million to 1 shot with his draw? Even Khachanov ain't a million to 1.

Hell all of them probably. LOL Djoker isn't playing. Sinner/Alcaraz aren't showing consistency, and will Nadal stay healthy? A 200-300 ranked bum could win the US Open this year realistically. No one trusts this top 10-20 outside of Nadal/Djokovic

Karatsev? Come on, he’s been completely AWOL since January. Disappeared off the map, he’s losing to everyone in R1 or R2. I wouldn’t even have him in the considerations.

That said, my vote is either Shelton or Thiem. I’ll go Thiem because he’s won the thing before.

EDIT: Yeah I know Murray’s won here too, back in the stone ages. Thiem’s title was literally 2 years ago, not 10.
