posterior tibial tendonitis

Anyone heard of this? Got it from tennis. The inside of my right foot, the bony part of the ankle that sticks out is bruised, inflammed, and very sore, apparently from overuse. Whenever i play singles my ankles get very tight, like they are strained. I have a flat feet and this causes the problem for the most part. Doc said it could be a long term problem. Anyone had this?

I have been misdiagnosed with this, because my plantar fasciitis pain was shooting up too high through the nerve.

The doc is right. If it's PTTD, you've got lots of work to do. First, support it with say Aircast PTTD ankle brace, ice, rest, to get inflammation down.
Then you have to do different exercises to strengthen the tendon (look up on the web). Another piece of advice - get second opinion about diagnosis. Foot is very complex - even pros are making mistakes.
