Prettiest serve motion?

Richard Krajicek had a beautiful service motion. This guy actually beat Sampras at Wimbledon (not in the finals) in the 90's when Pete was unbeatable there. Too bad he couldn't stay healthy he may have won more than just the 1 Wimbledon.

Everything efficient and fast in the motionof both their arms.
To many plaers serve with ugly high tosses and back curl. Even Feds toss is circular, not straight like Roscoes and Richards motion. Only Ivanisovic and Dent deserve a honourable mention.

Who do you think has the coolest, best-looking serve motion ever? Past or present, male or female, don’t matter

For me it goes like this:

1. Fed (takes the no. 1 spot by a large margin, no contest really, the most smooth and most graceful serve action ever, I will never get tired of watching that)

2. Karlovic (don’t know what is it about this serve motion but I’ve always thought it looked very cool, for me personally it’s a joy to watch Ivo serve, both because of the cool serve motion and cause of the serve that comes after)

3. Djokovic (this one also looks really cool to me, his best-looking shot along with his backhand)

4. Sampras (I’ve always really liked how he prepares before tossing the ball, looks great all-around)

Bigmacs unconventional and ugly, nonetheless effective on fast surfaces because he created a difficult angle on right handers backhand.
I would vote for Pim pim Johanson serve as a honorable mention. He did serve once around 50 aces in a match against Agassi who is known for his service returns.

I also like the effortless serve motion of Pancho Gonzalez. In his day tennis rules for the front foot had to be planted to prevent foot faults. I'm not sure when the tennis rules changed but if he would have been able to launch himself with his legs more I think his serve would have been even better.

His motion really looked effortless and smooth and he wasn't even even swinging at full speed according to some bio's i've read.

Harsh. Prettiest is the qualifier in the threadtitle. Roscoe and krajicek...and also goran, were devastating, powerful, quiCk, effective, tough to read. But pretty?

Federer. Pierre hugues herbert. Stich. Ashe. Sampras, and rampras.

Their motion is so smooth and effortless but at the same time also visually attractive in its intricacy and rhythm.

I find a lot of the best serves in men's tennis hideous and ugly looking from a purely spectator's point of view (Mac, Roddick, Ivanisevic etc) and on the women's side the best ones tend to be so well disguised that they are unexciting and bland visually (Pliskova, Serena).

Sampras and Goerges on the other hand have cracked the code of serving better than everyone and still remain easy on the eye. I like that "have your cake and eat it" lack of compromise.

^Goerges has a good looking serve. Ja, Samprraass, too, for sure. He will go down in serving lore as the successor to tilden, pancho, and kramer.

Zen Sampras bringing both his hands/palms together in perfect symmetry just before the ball toss, also at that exact moment one of his feet is pointing up in the same angle as his hands and racket (only the tip of his heel touching). Completely unintentionally the dude has a bit of a coordinated hand and feet choreography routine going on.

And Julia's delicate hand and wrist movements while handling the racket and the ball are sort of pre-announcements of what is coming: a final monster wrist-snap: bang! Game over (literally in this case, cuz it's possibly one of her countless aces).

Raonic is another one. His groundstrokes look unnatural, but his serve is another matter. Quite possibly best serving technique of all time, given that he's 6'5 (tall, but certainly not an ace tower) and serves like Isner/Karlovic/Anderson.

When I first started playing tennis with friends I used to emulate many players' service and believe it or not but the easiest and most effective for me to emulate was Becker's serve. I like Pete's, Goran's and Mac's serve too. I also thought Agassi had a unique way of serving.

As for the women Jana Novotna probably threw the ball the highest and she had a smooth movement but she was lacking a little power.

Btw, there used to be an indian looking player back in the early 00s who used to serve like Sampras, he was definitely copying him. I can't remember his name but it just shows that copying won't do it at all, if power and speed are missing.

I think Roger almost emulated Pete's serve too, only difference is Pete moves his left foot up

I think Sampras's is awkward and ugly. The foot up with the handshake is unaesthetic.

Michael Stitch's is one of the prettiest. The first 3/4 of his motion are perfect. He just looks a little unbalanced as he makes contact with the ball and it sort of hurts the aesthetics of the whole package.

Unsurprisingly, Federer's is picture perfect and by far the best looking.
