Prince NXG Graphite

Why was the price lowered on this? If I'm correct, Prince usually lowers the price if the racquet is not making good business for them, and they are going to remove the racquet from stock.

The reason I'm asking is because this racquet is so nice to play with, IMO. It also is one of only two oversize player's racquets ever made, if I'm correct. This is the first player's racquet I have owned since switching from the tweener Prince Bandit, and the qualities of the NXG Graphite are suitable to higher levels IMO. The feel is fittingly solid and I think this racquet can rightfully be deemed my "Holy Grail". I just don't see the reasoning because this racquet is sort of one of a kind and an attempted step up, new age POG.

To each his own I guess. I didn't really care for the feel of them, and I don't too many other people did either. They probably weren't selling any of them, so you might as well lower the price.

well...there's that pattern in tennis where if a new technology comes out and its used in a new series of rackets...the price of the previous lineup of rackets goes down...just like when nCode came out, prostaffs, and hyper carbon was reduced...when m-fil came out, dunlop lowered the prices on other rackets like the 200g

I hit with the oversize and felt that it was a nice playing racquet. I do not care for oversize though. I also think that the Prince warrior TT oversize was a nice racquet as well. They are both discontinued and are really really cheap, if you likr them, buy them they won't last long at this price

The NXG OS is pretty good as far as I'm concerned. I use it and the POG mid so I can basically say I've spanned the generations of technology and headsize. You'll be fine. I know there're people on this board who decry the "lack of feel" but I use one of the best classic racquets on the POG and the NXG doesn't irk me in any way.

I dont think the NXG lacks 'feel', however, I didn't enjoy the 'feel' it provides. The midplus is an okay racquet but it pales in comparison to the Diablo mp. Soft response but a lot of vibration in the upper third of the frame.

Anyway, price is reduced because it has been discontinued. It has been discontinued because it wasn't a particularly successful frame.

As to it being one of only two oversize players frames ever made well I think you'll find there are quite a number of others. It's a ridiculous term anyway, 'players frame/racquet', but if you go through Prince's history you'll see there have been a truckload of other frames that fit the bill - Prince Woodie, Prince Graphite Comp etc, etc.

I have 2 NXG Mid and they are great. They are great in control but they are lack of feeling somehow.

the nxg mid feels stiff compared to its supposed flex rating, you just dont feel the ball being cupped on the racquet when you hit with it. i think the "more" technology contribute to the stiff-feel and the "triple-threat" at 10 and 2 o'clock also launches the ball a little earlier than i like. but it does feel right when you first pick it up.
