What are people's opinions when it comes to levels of prize money in Grand Slam. Should women recieve equal pay for less work?

Obviously, everyone is entitled to equal pay for equal work.

Should women be paid as much as men? No, the quality of the women's matches is 2 leagues below men. That has nothing to do with technique, talent or competition. Women are just slower, weaker both physically and mentally.

Do we want to see best-of-5-set matches in the women's game? HELL NO. It's already too boring, why not get on with it?

Normally, I'd say yes. Quality of play is somewhat subjective and pay shouldn't be based on that.

What changed my opinion on this was the AO. Maria Sharapova in no way deserved to be paid the same amount as Nadal. For someone who fought like Nadal, for six hours no less, to be paid the same amount as someone who was utterly destroyed in about an hour isn't right.

I agree...

Even completely ignoring the tennis quality aspect the fact is men's tennis draw much, much bigger crowds than woman's. At the slams, the only reason a woman's match can even fill the stadium is to schedule a men's match in the same session or if it is a match later in the tournament where sponsored (corporate) seat purchases account for half the stadium seats.

For that reason alone - ignoring all talent/skill/ability topics - women should be paid less. They can't hold their end of the bargain regardless of playing quality.
