Pro's Pro Strings!?

Claycourt Plus is plush, comfortable, has good power and pocketing, Feels similar to NG but not the same of course. I use it in the mains with Red Devil cross BUT.... it breaks too fast, lasts a day or 2 of tennis if Im lucky. I had a friend try out a newly strung racket but has been in my bag for a week and after hitting a few rallies with him the string snapped.

I got about 3 or 4 sets of singles put of claycourt plus in full bed. When paired with poly cross it went to about 2 sets at most. Played awesome in full bed for 2 sets though but cant afford the time and money restringing even this cheap string every two sets. Guess that's why pros change with the new balls every few games never mind sets

Yep. Well aware of the great @mikeler review of MCS. In fact, it was that review that introduced me to MCS. A friend of mine who had arm issues was forever greatful to hear about MCS because he was able to return to playing a lot sooner than he thought he would without need to spend a fortune on NG.

Did you try the Pro’s pro version ?

It plays great, the trick is dialing your preferred tension. I prefer Blackout mains (bites the ball well and low powered) with Red Devil cross (powerful and slippery) this combo gives me really good spin potential. Also Black Eruption mains (power and spin potential) with Concept cross (slippery and more control oriented) works really well for me. My tensions vary depending on the stick, head size and string setup.

I don't have Blackout but do have Black Force and Red Devil so I will give it a shot. What tensions do you recommend?

Very much the same feeling. Depending on the frame and gauge but maybe (do not know all gauges of these) and liking all I would say

Black force 1.14
Eruption 1.18
Eruption 1.24
Red Devil 1.24
Blackout 1.28

Blackout/Red Devil in my RF97a I tend to gravitate to 55/52 lbs. using a drop weight. Have not used Black Force yet sorry.

We didn't. But only because we bought three reels of MCS and by the time we'd gone through them, we moved on to other strings. However, if mikeler believes they are the same string then I am happy to trust his view, so there was no need afaic.

Strung Blackforce in the mains and Red Devil in the crosses. I went and hit with it for 20 minutes with a partner then he left and serve for 10 minutes. A really nice pop and great depth on my shot. I really like BF a lot.

Jura-SB - do you have an email address for me to contact you regarding strings?

These guys are talking absolute CRAP. They have no idea what they are talking about. Yeah, so Blackcode is similar to Pro's Pro and made in same factory is it? Horsesh*t, pal - don't spout crap when you don't know what you're talking about.

The fact is that Pro's Pro make the cheapest, WORST QUALITY, garbage can excuses for tennis strings, and the only reason anyone uses them is because they are dirt cheap.

However, what many folk don't realise is that for a little more cash you can get MUCH higher quality strings, and there is no need to waste your life playing with Pro's Pro garbage at all.

Not one person I met ever has said anything good about these strings.
I think they just expressing their opinions. You might disagree but that doesn't make then CRAP.

Tried Pro's Pro Multi in the mains at 55 and Black Force in the crosses at 52. Wow! It was outstanding! I loved it until it broke after the first hour lol

you know some of them pros pro complainers dont have even played with it. Moreover they prefer the 10 times more expensive Alu which dies within 4 hour according to most. so they have to consider what is crap. Ofcourse they cant tell that of Luxilon because a lot of ATP players use it so to call that crap you need some balls which they aint got.

I know exactly how you feel, an hour to string the and an hour worth of play and the multi snaps (PP Claycourt Plus mains with Red Devil Cross). Lasts a bit longer in my TC95 18x20 though

I don't have a dog in this fight, I was hoping you'd just tone it down a bit.

I restrung the racquet with Dunlop Silk and PP Black Force at same tension. Hopefully it plays just was well as my last setup.

What tensions and racquet/pattern do you use? I have used claycourt plus with intense heat crosses and it lasted me about 10hrs of doubles before breaking. I use a lot of top spin but then also get to net as quickly as possible so maybe not as much ground strokes with top spin and a lot more serve and volley which may not wear strings as quickly.

it was actually Babolat Addiction not Dunlop Silk. My bad. Babolat Addiction was 16g strung at 55 and PP BF was 1.24 strung at 52 in a 2021 Vcore 98+ which is 16x19.

Yeah the string broke after an hour of hard hitting from the baseline.

I will have to try baseline hitting to get accurate comparison. Time to schedule hitting session

so not much informative. what didnt you like? Which gauges and which tensions in which racquet and why did you try hybrid these?

It was 1.25 g. The control was okay but there really wasn't any pop. My serve, slice, and drop shots were all lacking. I played in a tournament and cut them out after the tournament. Currently doing a hybrid of multi in the mains and Black Force in the crosses. Really liking that a lot and it might be my got to setup.

Plus Power 1.28 mains 24kg with Red Devil 1.19 crosses 23kg on a 100sqi 16x19 racket is an excellent hybrid combination!
You have to try this! And the colour mix is so tropical! Tequila sunrise on the ...strings!

ok and what other benefits of this hybrid? i was thinking to buy a few hybrid rolls of Spinox because it for some reason is not anymore available in 200 m roll. Now finally i begin to apreciate this strange string that is very durable without being sluggish.

I quite liked spinox. I got it in a hybrid reel but ended up using it full bed. Played nicely without being harsh at 25kg in 16x19 100in racquet. Very durable and holds tension pretty well for a poly. Gives fair power but good control. Seems to be out of stock now though

It's arm friendly - which is my main concern - and has a nice blend of feel, power, spin and control.
it's not exceptional in each part, but it's very pleased combination to play with it...

the string you’ve had the best experience with
Ah in that case, i have enjoyed fb of RD 1.19 or Eruption 1.18 (either green and black).
hybrid wise I liked the PP Syn gut 1.30 on the mains and either RD 1.19 or Eruption 1.18 for the crosses.
have a reel of BO but not tried personally (yet).
not a fan of most of their multi though, but I do like a fb of Torpedo.

When you ever try hybrid with PP Syn gut 1.30 on the mains and Blackout on the crosses remember to tie off the poly crosses on crosses!
A thing that Fed use to do. Not with PP strings of course!
I've strung the same hybrid few days ago, PP S.Gut 1.30 (black) on the mains and Blackout 1.24 on the crosses and the textured BO "saw" the S.Gut right on the crosses knot in just an hour of regular hitting...

Could be the same problem as mine? Does it breaks right on the crosses knot?

cool. Thanks for that - that can be an option too.
I haven’t had any issues with the shaped Eruption on the crosses and tied off on the SG mains.
Have done a few SG and BO hybrid for others and haven’t heard of any issues either. Lol
