Pros Pro Strings

Hey,

To open up the thread, I tried various strings that are very economical.

Some examples are:
Pros Pro Concept
Pros Pro Plus Power
Pros Pro Synthetic Gut

I find that the strings dont last that much but are great for people looking for strings on a low budget or that dont mind restringing often. Except Pros Pro Concept, I found it was the one that mostly lasted out of the three.

Pros Pro Synthetic Gut felt low powered and moved a lot.

Pros Pro Plus Power was great, it felt really damped, which I really enjoyed! I got the orange version and the only downside was that the tension didnt last that much, I guess if you dont mind re-stringing our racquet every now and then, well its a good string.

Im ordering a few reels right now, just wanted to know everyones opinion and if you know any other brands that are low priced like Pros Pro...

There is already a thread, so just post in that one.

Concept lasts as long as most polys. The plus power is supposed to be good too in that regard. Concept is a fantastic string.

^^ I agree about concept. Probably their longest lasting string and has great feel. My favorite out of the 3 I have tried full bed. Not plasticy like blackout. Strategem was good but lost tension quickly and was rubbery and muted. There's a huge thread on pros pro

What I read in the other threads was that strategem 8 was compared to RPM, guess I will have to try it out and see how I feel towards it

Honestly just felt like starting one hahaha nothing bad. Didnt think the other one was still running, and the topic was interesting when I read it. Been playing college with the Pro's Pro strings and the info everyone shared was great.

I agree about Plus Power 1.23. It has an initial tension drop, then it goes steadily downhill faster than I expected. But while it lasted it was a really nice, lively orange poly. I especially liked it on serve. It matches well with my Aerogel 200 @51. With the right racquet and a player who doesn't mind stringing often, this is a great value.

Thats great! I tried showing the guys on the team the sting but not all of them enjoyed it as much as I did (at least with Pro's Pro Cocept). Goes to show how people react differently to each string. I personally play with Solinco Hyper G, but if the test with the strategem 8, black out or cyber power goes well I will switch. Really like playing with Pro's Pro strings in the past, and I heard good things from all three of the strings I ordered.

XD Have you tried it yet? It's not a bad string tho. I could probably get used to it. It just lost tension a bit quickly but hopefully you'll have a different experience. Let us know how it goes!

No I havent tried it yet! Im excited to see how it plays. I ordered a reel after reading the reviews in the other threads but I will definitely share my honest opinion with the string once I try it.

Once I tried Pros pro I realised every string I have played probably didn't make much difference to my game anyway. I did however have to change from concept to Ichiban Spin (lower powered) due to a racket change, mostly because I didn't want to string above 58lbs.

Probably will never use luxilon again in my life no matter how much I am earning.

Update!

I recieved all my reels yesterday so I decided to string up Pro's Pro Cyber Power first, as I said I used previously Solinco Hyper G, so I really enjoy stiff like strings.

Initial thoughts:
The string felt slippery. But it looked great, I ordered it in the silver color, and it looked like Luxilon Alu Power. I went to the court to practice some drills and the string felt great in all areas of my game. Its a very solid string, it actually feels low powered so I can really swing out into the ball.

One aspect that I want to see if its good is in durability. All the Pro's Pro strings that I have tried are great at first but have a tension drop after a few hours (just like any poly) but some strings are just unplayable (except concept).

All in all, its a great poly! Cant see any difference between it and any other high end poly. Would definitely use it this season, lets see how well it plays in an actual match ;)

I'll keep everyone updated as soon as I can

Currently using Pro's Pro Vendetta 1.25 in silver(original formula). The most comfortable poly I've ever used. Solid all-around string. My only complaint is I wish it produced more spin. Plays like a very durable synthetic gut. When my reel runs out I want to try Power Plus and Concept along with the new formula Vendetta and a new string called Interceptor.

My favourite string of theirs too although I like Red Devil too. Vendetta is super soft with great feel. I use it as a durable syn gut alternative for those who hate string movement but don't like stiff strings.

Nice! I enjoyed concept but what I can tell you is that it doesnt excell in any particular area. Its a great string but dont expect a lot of topspin or more power, its just normal in my opinion. I tried lowering the tension (even at 35), but I guess it wasnt the string I was looking for at the moment. One good aspec of the string was it's durability. I felt it was playable nearly until they broke.

If you buy a reel of interceptor please post a review! I was about to buy the string but there werent that many reviews even in the other threads. Looks great, I thought it could play like Solinco's Hyper G.

I just tried the Pros Pro Strategem 8 and it feels great! Only complaint, feels kind of rubbery. It creates great topspin, should give it another try in an actual match, but for me Pro's Pro Cyber Power (silver color) was amazing. Played singles and doubles in todays practice. Great in all areas, for me it had control and it didn't send my balls flying once the ball hit the strings. Will definitely keep using it and it may be my go-to string. Second time playing with them and there wasnt any change in the strings playability. Will try to keep everyone updated!

I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on strategem and concept. I would also like to see a review of interceptor. Was gonna try it out but didn't wanna spend so long trying out strings.

Couldn't post a picture...

UPDATE:
Just got back from cutting grass, didn't have any trimmer strings and I was halfway done with the yard. I did what any normal person would do, got a few scrap strings from previous string jobs and put it in the trimmer. Solinco Tour Bite Soft and Pro's Pro Strategem 8 hybrid worked great on the grass. Now I see why I could hit with so much spin on the courts! XD

Cause not many people are aware of them..and many think they are of low quality cause of their low price...

Pros Pro is mainly all I use... they are fine..

I am very happy with the Price and the result from PPs polys. I tried their non-polys but was not that happy.
It will be very difficult to find cheaper polys than PPs.
I wish they had one square shaped poly (1.10mm-1.25mm) in any color.
I am using PPs for years now on my personal rackets.

My favorite in order..18 gauge
Black Force
Red Devil
Blackout
Eruption
Mine are:
Red Devil 1.19 (can't use because I break it, switched to Black Force in order to keep the same gauge)
Black Force 1.19 (almost has the feel of RD but more durable, current string I use)
Blackout 1.24 (testing out now, a little more firm than BF but tension hold is great)

what gauges and what about durability, spinpotential, feel, playability?
Mine is 1.19
With my ezone 98 it's crisp in a good way. It player 6h just fine up till now. It's very slicky, you feel it working to give you good Spin. I don't think anyone Will be desapointed with this one.
