Based on history.. The 2021 will debut fall 2020
hence marketing campaigns of sneak peaks, pro demo, etc should hit Mayish 2020..maybe even sooner..

It will be interesting to see what they will do with the next PD.. certainly market trend is a softer flex.. they dropped the flex a little with the Pure Aero which was a welcomed.. 2 points maybe.. but a profound drop...?? Wilson did it, others did to...Bab has some work to do...

Do they need to drop it that much? Hopefully not more than a couple of points, if that. The Clash 100 is not a good, stable racquet. Granted, it is 10.1 unstrung and the PD is 10.4 unstrung, but the current PD is in another league vs the Clash. I don't know many who have had significant arm problems with the current PD (there are some but not a lot, like some past PDs).
On the other end, the 360 Head Instinct MP is certainly a valid alternative. Its a good wide-beamed, flexible racquet, that is very playable - again, in another league vs the Clash. Even so, the current PD's stiffness and vibes are well dampened.

purely anecdotal and biased by when I really started playing lots of tennis: 2018 is softer than all the cortex versions (2015 was like a board: ouch!). 2018 is not as soft as swirly (my favorite) or block letter (second favorite).

I am probably in the minority here but I really like the 2012 version of the PD. Have about 4 of them. One Wimbledon PJ, and two regulars from when they were released, and one Play version which @mad dog1 hooked me up with. If I wasn't such a holic, I would def keep one of those in my bag at all times for that Babolat goodness.
I have the 2012 PD Roddick+ strung @50lbs with RPM Blast, and 2 x Pure Drive Plus both @55lbs, 1 with PRM Blast and the other with Luxilon 4g. Guess which is the harshest? The Roddick+. Guess which is the best feeling? The one with Luxilon 4G. I like all 3 though. 27.5 PDP is a BEAST.

I think they should leave the flex pretty stiff. It's what makes the Pure Drive a Pure Drive. I think Tithtening up the pattern would be in their interest though.

O it’s. OT.
The Clash Tour/Pro is in another league than the Pure Drive IMO. I have used the Pure Drive for 15 years until I needed to switch due to it’s high RA. Not only is the Clash Tour heavier which is great for plough through, but it stiffens when you swing hard and softens when you hit slices and touch shots. It is amazing to hit with. I’m a 5.0 tournament player and PTR certified pro. The issue most people have with the Clash is they either they don’t know how to string it to get it to play correctly (44 lbs full poly to access new tech) or they hit too flat for this racquet. They specifically created this for the modern swing path- low to high - meaning lots of topspin. It is not for flat hitters at all. When strung correctly it plays like a soft Pure Drive that has stability and much more comfort with slightly less power.

Is it me or does that top part of handle and bottom of throat looks a bit weird?? Overall looks v nice! Better than current smurf blue I think.. Ezone 2020 vibes!

The frame shape above the grip seems different. Question for experts: does that not resemble a Fairly recent but expired Pro Kennex mold? And didn’t the original Pure Drive derive from another Pro Kennex mold from the mid-90s?

Not that the aesthetic match-up of string and racquet matter much, but I’ve heard there’s a really cool color of RPM Power coming out that will complement the new Pure Drive really well. I think that’s kinda cool!

I think Babolat did a great job with the satin bronze, so I'm hoping they hit it out of the park with the new color too.

I agree. As far as I know, I think Babs is trying to basically come out with a Pure Drive type of collection with the launch of the new standard Pure Drive in September. Like with shoes, strings, and maybe other stuff included. I think it'll be cool to see all of it together.
