Rafael Nadal is 19-10 vs Fedovic at Slams

Fed fans freely admit his endless chokes. When has a Nadal fan admitted a choke? He's had far fewer than Roger, to his credit. Djokovic fans won't even admit that the net cord choke at the FO against Nadal was a choke. They're intransigent and haven't the slightest grasp of tennis history, since they all starting watching the sport in the 2010's.
The missed overhead at RG13 wasn't a choke. Nadal came back with a vengeance and slammed the door on any opportunities Djokovic got after that, until Nole ran out of gas in the end.
Now, if he had made that overhead, he would've probably won the match. But it still wasn't a complete choke.

And you're lucky Hitman isn't here to address that last remark.

@Robert Baratheon You are completely misrepresenting what I said. Rafa's achievements at RG are unreal. I respect him and respect his FO accomplishments tremendously. My post simply pointed out that without clay, both Djokovic and Federer's H2H's against Rafa in slams looks a hell of a lot better. Nobody can dispute that.
The thing, my friend, is that there is no need to look at the numbers after removing Roland Garros. We look at stats to get valuable information. I don't think the valuable information you were looking for was that even after removing Rafa's best slam out of equation, he was still equal with Roger.
And if that's what you were trying to convey then I apologise for misrepresenting what you said.

Or many of the other Djokovic fans who were watching tennis long before 2011. What a massive generalization.

I promise you: If Zverev and Thiem were transported back to 2005-2016, Federer would crush them. It's amusing that you penalize Federer for dealing with two up-and-coming ATGs (heck, Murray too) but you count the likes of this sorry excuse of a next gen (as of 2019) as indicators of Nadal and Djokovic's greatness.
Yeah Federer is the master of fantasy wins.

Reality is that his domination was restricted to 4 years only with Roddick being his main rival.

5/8 of the WTF players are under 24.
8 of last years top10 were over 29 years old.

The youngest slam winner is 31 yo Cilic.

I'm sorry, it's clear to me that Federer was not old in the majority of his matches against Djokodal. In fact, he had a higher average ranking than them in their meetings. Ranking is the best method to evaluate form, ATP uses it to compile draws.

20-10 is astounding. Goes to show you that ability and shot variety isn't everything. Tennis has become a game of endurance, grit, and baseline consistency.
I fear not the man who can hit 10,000 different shots. I fear the man who can hit the same high topspin FH 10,000 times.

Which is exactly why the sport has declined in popularity and will be as popular as darts and bowling when Federer retires.

A choke or merely Nadal played better that day? I don't think he was close enough to win the match to say he choked. He had his chances in the 3th set, but he only won 1 set. The most you can say is that he choked the 3th set (or maybe Nadal was just clutch).

To say that Djokovic choked the USO 2013 final is like saying that Nadal choked the AO 2012 final or the WB 2018 semifinal. Just because our favorite player lost a disputed match it does not follow that he "choked" (unless he has multiple match points with his serve).
Well, i do believe Rafa choked AO 12 and was the better player in Wimbledon '18. Djokovic was just more clutch. It's just surprising how many matches Djokovic has won against Fedal just at his B level while Fedal have to be at their absolute A+ level to beat him.

Six years (plus an additional one in 2017), if you wish to be more accurate. And no, Roddick wasn’t his main rival. Federer played Nadal more times in that span of six years than he played Roddick.

But I mean, go ahead and compare Thiem and Zverev with the likes of young Nadal and Djokovic if it makes you feel happy.

In his losses to Federer, Djokovic had an average ranking of 3.12
In his losses to Djokovic, Federer had an average ranking of 2.42.

In his losses to Federer, Nadal had an average ranking of 2.90.
In his losses to Nadal, Federer had an average ranking of 1.70.

So Federer had a higher ranking. Woah wasn't he always old and Djokovic/Nadal always peak? How is it possible?

Ranking reflects how good a guy was in the last 12 months. F.e. Nadal was the best in 2008 but Federer was #1 up to and including Wimbledon/Toronto.

Could you show what his ranking was in the YE race in that period of time

Can you tell what do you think of Federer playing 13/30 slam matches with Big3 at the age of 23-27 while they were 19-22?

Wasn't that a big advantage?

Against Nadal on clay no one has an advantage no matter how delusional anyone is. About Federer vs. Djokovic only, he had a 5-3 H2H in Slams before 30s so yes he had an advantage. Just like Djokovic had an advantage against Federer from '14.

22 yo Nadal beat Federer at Wimbledon and AO too.

Why 19-22 yo Nadal on clay is unbeatable while 32-34 yo Federer on grass/hard is old? Isn't he the GOAT of these surfaces?

Federer also had opportunities after 40-15. Not that he completely collapsed after that. Took match to 12-12 and lost in TB only.

Precisely. They want him to be GOAT yet they make EXCUSES why he isn't GOAT.

The unintentional comedy is staggering.

Because Nadal peaked at a young age and Federer demonstrably declined from age 32 (post 2012). This is simple stuff, troll.

The good thing is age of decline changed form 26 to 32.. May be with some more time Mastronians will believe yes age wasn't a significant factor in Federer's defeats to Djokovic and Nadal.

Age was more a factor Vs Djokovic post 2012. Before that he didn’t have a significant problem with him.

Nadal had his number on slower surfaces and was mentally in his head from 2008 RG onward. Federer had the game to beat him more often but choked a lot.

I meant Nadal being peak at a young age too, but whatever, I don't even want to read your answer.

2005 was one of his best seasons and he hit his peak on clay from age 19. Did you even watch tennis back then?

You’re just a meme at this point. Good for a few laughs though so keep up the good work.

Not sure how this is even a reply to my post? The answer is simple. Nadal at 19-22 was MUCH better than 32-34 year old Federer.

I never said he was the GOAT, so there goes that. I don't care about him being the GOAT. I am a fan of his regardless.

My point is simple. 32-present year old Federer is significantly worse than 20s Federer. That's it. Just like 20s Nadal is significantly better than 30s Nadal.

We'll see though.

20s Federer: 16 Slams
20s Nadal: 14 Slams
20s Djokovic: 12 Slams

Now let's see if the 30s versions of these players can beat these records.

Hilarious how triggered people get over the beatdowns Nadal dished out at RG over the years , that they still wish to omit every clay match as it makes their heroes look bad
:-D

And that overhead was just a very bad error (Djokovic isn't the best player when it comes to overheads anyway, it is well known), not a choke. Actually Djokovic was mentally much stronger than Nadal in this match. It was Nadal who missed a great chance to win in 4 sets.

2005-06 Nadal vs 2014-15 Federer:

Slam finals 3-3
Slam semi 0-2
YEC finals 0-2
Masters finals 7-8

Slam Titles: 2-0 (says it all)
Masters Titles: You know it better than me.
But the difference is just in their results against Federer/Djokovic in the matches I mentioned:

2005-06 Nadal vs Federer 6-4
2014-15 Federer vs Djokovic 1-8

You can't say 14-15 Djokovic had an easier opponent than 05-06 Federer just because he dealt better with it. In fact 14-15 Federer's results against the rest of the field were better than 05-06 Nadal's results against the rest of the field.
