Replacement for my Dunlop Max 200G ?

I have been using the Dunlop Max 200G (ones used by Steffi Graf) for the past 12yrs. Now I believe it's time for a change. I want to get a new racquet that is lighter and more maneuverable but has the same head light balance, flexibility and control and feel as the Dunlop. Can anyone recommend racquets that I can demo that closely resembles the Dunlop Max 200G ? I am a 4.0-4.5 all court player.

I don't think there's anything out there that can replace the flexibility and feel of that racquet. I used it. I found the Estusa Pro Braided and the Prestige Classic to be the closest matches, though not THAT close.

jangpyo, I used to use the Dunlop Max 200G a long time ago. I actually use the Fischer Pro Extreme FT now. While I can't say it's a replacement for the Max 200G, it does have many of the things you're looking for--it's flexible, head-light, and very control oriented. It's also VERY well damped, like the Max 200G--with a vibration dampener, you hardly feel any vibration. It's also easier to maneuver than the Max 200G. Nothing is going to be identical to the Max 200G, but I find the Pro Extreme FT suits my game well, as did the Max 200G.

Take the Pro Kennex Core 1 #6 out for a test drive. When someone asked me to describe how it felt, the closest i could come to was that it feel like an updated Max 200G. I have a Max 200G myself and I reckon the PK would be a perfect upgrade for it.

I still play max 200g but if I had to moderize then the PK rackets would be a great choice. I really like the PK 5g models they play very nice.

I used the Max 200G for 13 years. I now use the Wilson PS 6.0 95. To me, it has a similar dampened, sweet feel as the Max 200G. Both racquets were conceived around the same time in the early 80's, so to me, they both have that "wood-like" feel and weight (and headlght balance). Makes sense, since most people were transitioning from wood to graphite back then so they had to make the feel somewhat familiar to people that have used wood racquets for decades. If the feel was drastically different, I don't think people would have switched.

I've never hit with the Kennex racquets mentioned... but out of the frames I've hit with, I'd say the Prestige Classic/Prestige Tour/Classic Mid, and the Fischer Vacuum Pro 90. Both are discontinued, but can be found in very good condition.

My true suggestion, though, is to keep playing with the Max 200G. They can still be found here and there - sometimes even brand new.

Nothing will replace the MAX 200G, unless someone starts using the injection moulding again. Sad, but true. Sorry to dissapoint you.
