State cancelled for us...

I think that's the whole Southern Section. We received an email last week saying 55's, and all leagues, were cancelled.

I was under the impression that, while sectionals were cancelled, that some states were holding out on the state/city spring league.

You would be correct. Some states in Southern are continuing spring leagues and are still deciding whether to hold districts.

They just canceled all GA State USTA Championships for 2020 leagues. They still plan to finish league play but I don’t see the point especially if matches will count towards ratings. If I were captain I wouldn’t risk my top players in marches that mean nothing. Now if a team wasn’t in contention to win State they could play like normal.

I will be surprised if any sections end up holding Sectionals. Some are trying to schedule and plan, but many that have are giving in and just canceling.

In my section of SC we had not started some of our spring leagues. They are planning for June 8th and my captain asked everyone if they would be in to play. I pointed out to everyone that if there is no advancement to States (and to some it means a lot...like myself) and they are going to count these matches toward ratings then we run the risk of getting bumped for nothing...perhaps just 2 matches as there is only one other team in our league and they are not strong at all.

Yep - Mid-Atlantic officially cancelled Sectionals. They still currently plan on trying to hold Regionals for Adult 18+ and Mixed 18+.
No Regionals for 40+ folks.

USTA Atlanta plans to resume the 2020 Spring 40+ on June 7th. We had two matches left and there will be 2 rounds in the playoffs. They have given everyone the choice to play or to pull out with no penalty. We have a large team and I know many would like to play while I know others will not since there is no advancement. So we might just field a team but not use anyone that might be on the cusp of getting bumped to 4.5. When matches mean nothing and there's no advancement I just don't see a reason for them to risk it.

South Carolina just sent email out that they have cancelled all State Championships
It is really disappointing for my son and his team mates. They qualified as #1 and #2 seed for boys doubles this year. This would have been the first year that our school would be in contention to bring home top placing.
*edit* not sure if you are referring to USTA? I'm actually referring to High School. My bad.
