Should be released within the next month and are most likely going to settle on 16g-18g in black. I am also debating on certain colors but am not 100% sure yet! I will keep this thread updated continuously, but feel free to pm me feedback on here or at alex@blackbeartennis.com as i would love to hear any and all feedback.
Also on another note: Sorry for being dark at the moment all, but some personal things have come up with Dan and myself in the last month, but an opportunity came up that I couldn't resist.
I've bought Black Bear Tennis and will continue operations full steam ahead! I was very lucky and can't thank Dan enough, he will still be around to post but any and all questions can be directed to me. I'm excited at the new opportunity ahead for expansion and continuing to grow our string line up. with your help! My strongest 4.5 client gets 8 hours from 1.19mm @ 54lbs in his Yonex 97 305 gram. Starting in on my 2nd reel.
He made the switch from Black Widow as Bear Claw feels better on his arm & the consistent control is just what he has been searching for.

That's fantastic to hear!, Would love a.message from you with his full thoughts on it! Bear claw 1.24mm at 52 has been my go to in Vcore Pro 97, i love it. Once i get more 1.19mm in its going into my VC

Currently eyeing an April release date, but will be determined in the new week or so.
I am also writing up a monthly or quartlerly newsletter with my plans for BBT as well as other information to be posted on the facebook page and mailing list.

That looks awesome. but aren't you worried that most of your string bed will be black and it will mark up the balls black really quick

I just printed the logo and used it to trace over a Fedex envelope using an X-Acto knife. Shoot me a personal message if you have any additional questions
It did turn out to be just a tad bigger than it needs to be, specially because its body is completely filled and in the middle of the stringbed.
I'll make the next one 10-15% smaller and that should be perfect

This string felt similar to Black Widow when stringing. I strung the 1.24mm at 50 lbs full bed, same as my usual Hyper G 17g
I played with it for about two hours and my initial impressions are positive. Good control but not as much power or spin as the Hyper G on my groundstrokes. It definitely feels stiffer than I anticipated, so I'll let it sit for a couple of days. The plus is that it gives me a crisp feel on my volleys but I am much more of a baseliner. Still need to see how the tension maintenance and durability are. I see some light notching but nothing out of the ordinary.

I had been in touch up until July 30th and then nothing. I had been trying to place an order, and was told they would send samples and help sponsor an ITF event. Last email I received they were going to get back to me the next day, but never did. I sent several follow up emails but never received a reply back. I have had to remove Black Bear from my inventory. I was all excited for them since I got to name the string, just not sure things have worked out.

I too am surprised and disappointed at the current state. I would've loved to support a fellow Texan, especially a brand that pays attention to a community like us.

I think they're back! First Instagram post just went up from them since Miami Open 2019. Round claw is available now.

wouldnt show up to coach private lessons he was supposed to teach cause he “forgot”, would try to have other coaches at clubs cover for him multiple times for ridiculous reasons, completely disorganized running tournaments whilst trying to sell this string brand at said tournament, etc.

If it is tough to get in touch with them is not a great sign of a company. Good luck with getting that sponsorship. If I have to hunt down a company to get any product, let alone a sponsorship, I stay away from them. A few free string sets/reels isn't worth the aggravation of having to pester them or beg for things. IMO. Do what you want. Just my 2 cents worth.
