If someone throws racquet to you, throw it back and take out angell from your bag.

Both nice matches. Rooting for the "World", Shapovalov is a future superstar I hope (even though he lost in two tight sets) and Nadal was the best player in doubles out there. Berdych quite tragic, he's not really "home" in Prague to be honest (he's of Moravian ancestry), had a stinker of a game (few good shots here and there).

All the players were sitting in the lounges on the side, the "World" team by far more relaxed and entertaining. We'll see how it is tomorrow.

@zalive it's Feds event. Wilson, Nike and Mercedes (and Moët&Chandon, Rolex, etc) have all the recognition they could wish for. As far as marketing side of this event is concerned, it's top notch(or should I say peRFect...).

@2young4that sorry for the injury. Never easy and I have been there many times. Currently have wrist tendonitis which I am recovering from.

Was in the same boat. Had a supraspinatus tendon partial tear more than a decade ago. I had just graduated college thankfully otherwise my coach would have killed me (I played #1 for a DII school for 3 years). Doctor suggested not doing surgery and letting it heal. Fourteen years or so later, I still feel its not 100%. Have trouble with high OHBH and could never feel super confident. I am 34 right now but I can tell you, these injuries never bring you back to 100% unfortunately.

My sincere advice is focus on healing first. Rest as much as you can. If you really want to play, use natural gut. Stay away from copoly. My $0.02.

Man i feel you, i naturally went with let it heal instead of surgery, didnt go to see anyone. It has never healed correctly and actually continues to cause a lot of pain. Going with surgery this time. Natural gut is great for it as well as a brace but still... Nowhere near able to use the wrist as much to impart speed and spin.

Hope you wrist gets better, i feel with a brace the ohbh is much easier than fh for me, less wrist snap on the stroke.

I purchased a TC97 18x20! Hopefully it is quick to arrive :D purchased due to its remarkable similarity to the PT57, as I dont want to spend 600 aud to check it out. I will compare against my tc95 16x19 over the next few months and then see which i prefer more. Went with 320g this time, the 310 tc95 feels a tad light so will be weighting it up a bit too, its swingweight will end up a little higher. I guess I should put weight under the grip to bring it to 320g.

Dont want to try anything else with my wrist injury, the tc95 is a bliss to hit with.

Keep it below 50 lbs. No problem there.
Also, look for a comfy cross that will further bolster the dampening.

My current setup (TC95, 63RA) is more comfortable than the full beds I've tried so far and I urge you to give it a go.

Mains: RS Lyon @ 50 lbs
Cross: Yonex Poly Tour Pro @ 48 lbs

You can probably lower the tension to 47/45.

I assure you it will crush the ball and be comfortable while doing so.

Thanks! I ended up putting [insert below] last night.

Mains: Ashaway monogut zx 17 @ 46
Crosses: Prince Premier Comfort 48

I ended up getting sick with the flu so haven't been able to hit with it yet, but it feels very plush. I'm not a string breaker so probably won't cut this out unless it causes pain. Will report how it feels/plays. Thank you for the string recommendation! I just spent 100 on strings so may have to wait a while to buy more. I value my life (^.^).

Brand recognition campaigns. Money earned not important here, what's important is ability to do this with success.

What did you find? Lead tape? Mass has to be somewhere.

Two rectangular indentations (2x1cm) on both sides which look as part of the handle, solid carbon on scratch. Nothing removable, let alone knobs as on the 2015 picture of dgoran on the 12 page of the new TC97 thread.

Berdych a Moravian, I didn't know this, lol :)
Well what we think here why the campain is less relevant, what Wilson thinks is what counts. And when you do something like this it's, ok, not just brand recognition campaign, it's both that and a brand value campaign, even more than brand recognition. It's important to set a higher price than usual to bring the message 'ok, this is the value of Wilson'. However they must sell at set price, otherwise it's a fail :D

Tomáš is from Valasske Mezirici. You might insult people there if you call them Czechs and their relationship with Prague is neutral at best. Most certainly not positive.

Regarding Wilson - I asked the rep just 20 mins ago. They've sold 70 RF97As so far but don't have the Ultra Tour for display yet.

Waiting for singles to begin (Berdych - Kyrgios) but the following doubles is the creme de la creme of the night. Sock/Querrey vs Nadal/Federer.

Enjoy @joohan - slightly off topic but it seems Team Europe is a bit more reserved but still very pumped. I like that. I should be supporting Team World but they look like a bunch of hooligans doing weird signs and laughing like maniacs (Kokkinakis wearing two hats and Sock flying birds, weird as hell). Not my cup of tea. Glad they are getting a drubbing. Maybe I'm old school like that but I like a little more class than what they're showing lol - either way I think the crowd is enjoying a lot. Hope you have fun!

Maybe coz World team is a bunch of youngsters :D There are Thiem and Zverev in Europe team alone on court with daddy Verdasco while The King and The GOAT talking in front of fitness equipment in gym :D Querrey and Sock don't need this sh.t, they better frolic with other kids on court :D

Received my TC100 on Friday. 300g, 70ra, 325 6HL. Strange thing – it came with black grommets instead of green ones that I have ordered.

First impression. It is the ugliest racket I ever owned. :D Don’t get me wrong, I know it is a risky thing to state something similar in Angell fanclub, but still – it is very narrow/oval (I’m used to more rounded top side of the racket), and these grey inserts, small text “CUSTOMTC100” at the top – it makes it visually even more narrow as it is. I noticed that earlier design was a bit different (without grey inserts) – and it looked more rounded (at least from the photos).

Anyway, I strung it same evening at 24/23 with MSV CoFocus 1.18 (by the way, last double blocked cross is a bit problematic). Weight and balance was quite okay for me, so I decided to give it a try today in local club mix double tournament.

I struggled for the first 4-5 games – string settle in I think. After that is was a pleasure and we won 1st place in the tournament.

I’ll compare it to my trusted Babolat Pure Drive (300g, no customization).
Forehand. TC100 is more controllable. More spin (pattern is a bit more open than PD). Ripping balls with big spin was enjoyable. I’m not sure about flattening – I’ll try this tomorrow during my training.
OHBH. No issues, I was able to rip heavy topspin and flat heavy balls as well. Slice was stable and consistent.
Serve. I need to work more for the first serve. But is easier to perform a second kick serve.
Volleys. I was struggling a bit with these, but I believe I need more time.
In general TC100 is very VERY forgiving, big sweet zone – same as PD. In other hand, it is more controllable.

The feel. Hmm. It is definitely better than my PD. But not as good and DR98, DR100 or Wilson CV (Burn or Blade). Anyway, it was good enough and it remained me old Radicals or Instincts a bit.
TC100 feels a bit heavier in my hands than PD. But it is not sluggish at all. It was very very quick through the air (for example, DR100 and Burn were sluggish for me).

L3 handle size was okay for me – my hands are relatively small.

I assume that more open string pattern shall “eat” my strings more. But we will see. I was getting approx. 8-10 hours in PD with 1.18-1.20 strings. I’ll let you know what I’m getting with TC100.

In general, I’m happy with this new stick. I will let you know my other findings later on. :)

Few fotos, somehow I cannot add them directly:

Wow you’re the first to think its ugly. Oh and 1.18 or 1.20 is just to thin for the TC100 so will play too lively, erratic and eat your strings ;) Enjoy the new frame

I'm looking at ordering a TC100 RA63 310/315. Does anyone know the standard SW for the RA63 version and the RA70? I loved the lightness of the RA70 but feel the 63 will be more comfortable overall. The main concern I have of going with the 63 is it is said by many to swing heavier despite the same static weight. So the question is how much is the standard SW for the 63?

I tried an off the shelf TC100 RA70 Tour Version and liked it a lot, however, I wanted something a little less stiff. Also, which RA is more powerful......RA63 or RA70?

Thanks.......

In my case (300g/325mm) swing weight difference is (quoting Paul):

The swing weight range for the 63RA will be 295-305 unstrung.
The swing weight range for the 70RA will be 287-297 unstrung.

I assume that with 63ra you would be able to generate heavier ball (just guessing)?

This rugby ball shape looks weird for me. But I will get used, I'm pretty sure. :)
All 1.18-1.20 poly strings I'm using (CoFocus, SPPP, Silverstring) are pretty "dead" ones - so it should not cause a lot inconsistencies. Anyway, I'll experiment with 1.25 as well - Cyclone, BlackCode, Lyon.

I am experitmenting too. So far I have tried Solinco Tour Bite and RS Lyon. Completly different plays. With Tour Bite 1.25 (50/48lbs) you have to put spin on every ball (you will get massive spin) and every ball stays in court, with that spin is very difficult ball for opponent, higher launch angle. Flat balls and serves was much harder to keep in court.
With RS lyon 1.20 (53/51lbs) flat balls and serves are in, serves are faster, you get spin, but not that much as with tour bite, better (lower) slices, lower launch angle, maybe better directional control.

The 63ra has a higher swingweight due to more material and a complex layup. Naturally it will hit harder because of this. I love the comfort of the 63ra tc95 and overall it is great playing with nat gut/ poly hybrid.

Dont worry too much about the sw, it wont be too cumbersome. Extended 63ra is where it really starts making a difference. Roughly 10sw points for every .25" added.

Tpspn has the tc100 and was told at 330g unstrung the sw would be closer to 340 strung and overgrip. This is still quite manageable though and doesnt take that long to adjust to. As long as it is headlight enough for you, it will be fine :) as most of the weight is in the handle of angells for modification the swingweight of a 310 frame will not be that much lower than the 330g. You could probably ask for a lower weight easily.

The first to say it here. In the first two days, 3 out of 4 people who tried it said it's ugly (the same color scheme as Carreau's) - because I was prepared to see what I see. ;)

Yeah, PJ isn't much...when I ordered TC100 I wanted color grommets, but frankly, didn't like how those are too tiny for my taste for it's color to take over the standard design. In the end I ordered red and black, saw in live how both look and I didn't like red on it either. In the end I uses red on the one at the tip and the rest stayed black (colour grommets don't look good to me against grey on the sides) . So it's not classic. But still it's boring cosmetics.

I have TC95 as I said earlier. Absolutely great stick, especially for spin players. I am not really spin player and my balls have a lot of spin :D. Only problem which I have with TC95 is flat forehand paralel and flat service on T line, very hard to hit these two strokes with TC95 and with ealrier racket these two strokes was my weapons. I am thinking to buy TC97 18x20. So here is question: Who played both, please compare TC95 16x19 63RA vs TC 97 18x20, what I will get what to loose. Did you strung them on same tension?
Thanks
Evreyone is different but Ive enjoyed how much easier flat dtl forehands are with the TC95 and havent noticed any problems doing flat serves up the T. I use the 63ra TC94 16x19 strung at 45lbs with RSLyon. Both were shots Id hit a lot with my old max 200g and they returned to my game when I switched to the TC95. Was using a Pacific xfeel pro 95 and a Prestige IG MP before getting the Angells.

Agree. Grey is out of taste except for grey or silver grommets. Transparent CAP grommets like on IG Prestige would pass better.

I'm not sure why Paul went with those, it's lot alike Wilson racquets, only Wilson's include colour so it's effective.

Hey I really like grey and paul has a loooooooong history of grey sticks (very british). MW200g, max impact series... and when he launched Angell everyone flipped out over the grey sticks. I have both an all grey and a newer Tc95 that is black with some grey at 3 and 9. I like them both.

Grey is awesome but I think he could do special edition colors... like a deep metal flake green like those Lister Jaguars or a sparkly deep blue or red. Just to spurr sales and for a little festive fun.

Great color choice but bad taste for details like combination, distribution, gloss/matte, etc. Left is nice, right is so-so

My couch commented that PD produces more speed, but the ball is no so heavy. TC100 rewards on full strokes, sharp angle shots are doable (I was missing these a lot), drop shots are very good. In general I have x5 more control and shot variety. In other hand - I need to work a bit more to get pace.

Will string it with BlackCode 1.24 it should be more durable.

Regarding the PJ. I think PJ quality itself is good enough for custom racket. However, the frame preparation for painting is less good. I'm able to see some deviations under the paint. Anyway, it is a minor thing. :)

+1. I really like the cosmetics too. In fact I have been asked what stick this is multiple times (maybe more to do with Angell brand not cosmetics). I also like that I can mix up grommet colors. Mine look absolutely slick right now (green/black & all black). Then again, all this is pretty subjective.

Mine are just black and grey currently with off white strings (scorpion) Not really given the cosmetics much thought, though I guess I must lean towards darker frames. Only thing that really concerns me is getting the 'W'.

Hey, i want to add 10g to the handle to bring weight up a bit, i took off the grip however it looks like to take off the butt cap its going to be a *****, sooo many staples and so deep, no idea how to get them out without destroying the pallet or cap. Should i just add 10g under the grip instead?

Any idea whereabouts along the handle to add? 310g 9pt headlight, looking to make it 320g 10pt headlight then adding weight around the hoop. Just to match the tc97 i have coming as well

Overall I want it to be similar weighting to my rf97 but a little bit more easy to move around. Rf97 is at 355 or so, unbelievable serving with this and forehand, would love 350g on my tc95.

"Hi Bob. The 63RA version is typically 300 unstrung and the 70RA is closer to 290. (We can usually select 3-4 points higher or lower for each model) Power levels are similar for both but depends on your style of swing and string choice."
____________________________________________________________

I'm going to start off with a 17g multi and put some string savers in them, along with dampener and over grip. I believe this adds about 25 to 28 more to the overall SW. So total SW for the 63RA could run between 325 to 328 which is very manageable. I suppose I could ask him to decrease the SW by 3-4 pts to make it more maneuverable.

(by the way, last double blocked cross is a bit problematic)
- not sure if anyone else does this, but I agree those are a huge pain, so on my TC90, I just skip the first and last cross. Works like a charm, and plays just as good. So, I really have a 16X16 pattern... That might not work on the other frames, depending on how much space it leaves at the top/bottom. In the TC90, it's not that noticeable.
