I would heat the pallet with your wife's hair dryer very well before removing the pallet. Some people use a heat gun, others wrap the pallet and boil it briefly in water, but my wife's hair dryer always worked for me on my Volks.
Thanks! That's really helpful! :)

Love the fact in a year or so when my daughter moves up a frame size she'll be able to use the same racket as me!

that is a very good point. that is if you/we are still using the same one.. lol

my daughter is on 23" atm, so the K7 range would be a very cool upgrade for her too

Since they have the Lux string sale, I decided to try an experiment with BB original on TC95. Anyone try on their TC yet?

I have tried babolat vs team 17 mains with Luxilon Ace 18 54/50 in tc95 comfort and feel was very good, power was little too much for my taste.
I might try OG sheep syn full bed end of winter but still chilly outdoor on one of my TC95s. Just a comfy setup since poly gets a bit brittle in the cold

Am currently noticing that Hyper G definitely feels stiffer in low temps than in more temperate ones. Less oomph and spin and I’m less likely to get away with off centre hits. In the same racquet last winter, Cyclone Tour retained its spin, power, comfort and feel better even when the temps were near freezing. Like them both though. Admittedly that isn’t an Angell but I mention it in case helpful re the strings people use as it’s a direct comparison.

Still have tons of string so used some Head Hawk 1.30 and upped the tension a bit to 48lbs. Good thing cause BK plays with a little better control. Still played beautifully so glad I’ll be able to use up the Hawk packs I have. Two TC95s have BK and the 3rd is for some string experimentation. I’ll be trying Bear Claw 1.29, BB original, ALU power 15g

Wow, you are still playing outdoors? Hats off. You are a man of steel. I play indoors and complain if heating isn't full blown on at times (and then complain if it gets too hot, lol). You are right, poly definitely gets brittle in cold temp. Feedback changes so much too.

Goodness no, that’s for March/April or an odd day we’re it is sunny and 40s or 50s. It’s totally indoor now brrrrr

Haha yeah makes sense now. I was thinking how you are playing outdoors right now in Chicago, of all the places. I just re-read your post and get it now.

I can be stupid sometimes but I am totally a warm weather guy who suffers these cold bleak winters. Chicago winters suck and I often have to grab indoor courts 6am to find reervations :X3:

In the 40s here in uk now - still folk playing outdoors! We have a bubble too now - but not heated so temps are similar, but drier. This time last year we had 10” of snow and it was below freezing. Still played in the bubble! Thought you Yanks were tough? [emoji6]

 Nah, that’s only in the movies! Today was low 40s so doable if pretty desperate to play but it was pretty wet. Chicago winter is brutal and 40s is like a summer day :-D Seriously, i generally avoid outdoors till it is at least high 40s or into the 50s. I don’t know why we don’t have these bubbles here as well, it should be easy and we already have a problem with the high demand for indoor courts.

Not all of them so maybe just a way to bring them to spec
I thought that too but the answer from Angell was that all k7 is that way.... To be honest i prefer that way but in case i order a second one i would be disappointed not to have Silicone as it will feel different

I previously had with and without silicone so maybe they are all made with silicone now

Hi all,
Long time lurker and first time poster in this thread. I've been using the 16x19/63ra TC95 for almost three years now, and it's a great frame that helped me significantly recover from some recurring arm injuries I suffered with.

To preface the rest of the post, I'm a tournament level player trying to play D1 college tennis. I'm in a bit of an off season from tournament play right now and I'm pretty open-minded towards changes I can make to my game, be it technical or equipment related.

The other day, I was playing some situational points with a few friends and got the chance to play with the matte black RF97, where I immediately felt the benefit of the extra weight. Now, imo my 320gram 12pts headlight TC95s are probably 95% more solid than any other racquet on the market today, but playing with the RF felt like a huge difference from every aspect of the court, especially on returns and for my one handed backhand, which I switched to at the beginning of the year. Not to mention that the little bit of extra head size proved useful, particularly on quick groundstroke exchanges. The overall feel of the racquet also took me a bit by surprise and, honestly, I felt like the feel of the RF was more enjoyable for me than the TC95's (I'm sure a portion of this had to do with the weight difference between the two frames, but if I'm not mistaken I think the handle of the RF is foam filled.) Overall, the RF's feel didn't feel too far off from my old TC97 tour which was my first ever Angell frame (I switched away from it since it was too heavy for me at the time, although that is the best feeling racquet I've ever hit with)

The reason I'm mostly posting in this thread, and not making my own separate one, is because I'm looking for some comparisons between the RF and a similarly weighted TC97. Playing with the RF made me start lusting (for lack of a better word) for the feel of a boxier, heavier frame and I'm trying to get an idea of which frame I'd like to pursue after. I really appreciate Angell as a company and am a bit hesitant to jump ship on them, but I'm just trying to play the best tennis I possibly can, and at the moment I don't think the 95 is the racquet for me.

Thanks for reading, any feedback is appreciated!

Well, you already mentioned your spec on TC95 is 320g/12HL. My spec is actually 320g but 10HL which i feel is a better balance but you can also have 330g/12HL if you want more weight. Or just play around with adding weight and see what might work for you. I am a bit stumped in all honesty how you are striving for D1 and just switched to a 1 hander, thats a very big change for that level. TC97 IMO will never play like an RF97A if that is your goal. The flex and feel is so different and it just will never obliterate the ball like an RF. TC95 with added weight has that dictating prowess but you may want extra head size forgiveness. So if TC95 won’t work for you, check out the TC100 which is Thor’s hammer

Why not just stick with the RF? It doesn't sound like you are dissatisfied with it.

I would play more with the specs of your tc95 before changing everything and start from the beginning. RF is heavier and maybe even have bigger SW (you didnt mention your tc's SW) You played with tc for 3 years and it helped you recover from injuries. Staying injury free is one of the biggest aspect in tennis IMO :) as a experienced player you should stick to one racquet and grow your tennis with it. If you already like your tc95 there Is no reason to change it after a one hitting session with different racquet ;p its probably just honeymoon . btw I find tc97 heavier than tc95 even with same specs. I guess slightly thinner bridge and smaller head makes the difference :) there are no perfect racquets. Just the racquets you can win with :)

I'm in the UK so hopefully should get mine pretty soon after it's dispatched on the 17th, should get some decent court time with it over Xmas too for a review/comparison with the k7 red.

Green or lime wouldn’t be a color I gravitate to but frame looks nice, congrats
I thought it was pretty. A different color I have not seen in any current racquet. Let's see the performance of the racket, I'm very curious about that.

I think the green works really well, will look even better with a white overgrip [emoji16]

Will string it up tonight or tomorrow and hopefully hit with it Thursday. Guessing the handle is siliconed as it doesn't have a removable butt cap. Two overgrips and a little lead at 12 should have it at the same specs as my Reds...

Too bad the lid is not removable. I would like to see if it has silicone on the cord (I think it should have) the size of the hilt is bigger than the custom models? For my K7 Red L3, had a handle larger than the Tc95 L3.
