I was surprised too. I thought that Nestor won a few but I guess he didn't. He was primarily a doubles specialist, and won pretty much everything he could in that area. Recently retired at 48!Someone pointed out that Shapo is only the second Canadian (Raonic the first) to win a ATP title in men's singles in the open era. That I never knew.

An amazing athlete, and a wonderful ambassador for the sport. Still a young man and I wish him all the best with his next journey.Yeah, Nestor was incredible. I remember near the end of his career, the stat was that every single tournament he entered he had won at least once in his career. So all 4 GS, all 9 Masters, and every 250 or 500 (excluding ones that he'd *never* entered).
Not sure how that accounts for tournaments changing names and locations, but still, was a fun stat.
Recent Elo has it 73.5% Shapo, 26.5% Simon. Not really that close. Shapo is currently ranked #14 in Recent Elo.Just checked out the bookies, they have Shapovalov as the slight favorite vs Simon. Hopefully they're right!
That’s really cute Wednesday dancing with Del Potro.
Rusedski won the Newport ATP title in 1993 before his “defection.”Someone pointed out that Shapo is only the second Canadian (Raonic the first) to win a ATP title in men's singles in the open era. That I never knew.
2-2, retired.Welp, Shapo into round 2, via Simon forfeit, assuming medical.
Ouch!Groin injury for Simon, apparently.

According to my extensive, exhaustive analysis that runs many pages of statistics and is rarely wrong, Shapo is due to beat Zverev.
Yes, I looked it up. Nadal (2) and Tsits (10) were his only 2 top 10 wins.Win would be massive, let's just hope he plays well. That would be his 3rd win over a top 10 opponent? Plus it would put him possibly in the top 20.
Not medvedev when he was a top 10To date, he's defeated Nadal, Tsitsipas and Medvedev (not this year as they didn't play). So, this would be his fourth win. H2H he's 2-1 against Medvedev.
I find it impossible to argue that in any way possible. Let's hope you're right. At some point he's going to beat him. Might as well be this week.According to my extensive, exhaustive analysis that runs many pages of statistics and is rarely wrong, Shapo is due to beat Zverev.
So? Tsitsipas wasn't top ten at that time either I don't think. And, what does it matter? Not medvedev when he was a top 10
Did you read the Mr. T leaves that predicted Goldilocks will choke on the starter jewelry set endorsed by Mr. Lawrence Turead???According to my extensive, exhaustive analysis that runs many pages of statistics and is rarely wrong, Shapo is due to beat Zverev.
Read and dismissed. Canada's Sending him good vibes for tomorrow - OHM!!!!Did you read the Mr. T leaves that predicted Goldilocks will choke on the starter jewelry set endorsed by Mr. Lawrence Turead???
Why dismissed? The Goldilocks I’m referring to is Zverev.Read and dismissed. Canada's Sending him good vibes for tomorrow - OHM!!!!
Fognini says that to players and umpires alike. It's like his go to tirade in English, "you're so arrogant" lol... Though I do remember he doesn't like the idea of this next gen sort of thing and gave an interview a while back...At the Roger's Cup last year Fognini said to Shapo after being beat "You're so arrogant". I wonder if there's still bad blood between the two.
I watched the few games that Shapo played today and he was setting things up well but then going wild. Seems he isn't quite used to the court speed. He has a good chance here if he can keep his form for a SF.
Yes he was, he was 10th, it matters because the question was asked how many wins over top ten players has he had. If he beats Zverev tomorrow that's his third. So? Tsitsipas wasn't top ten at that time either I don't think. And, what does it matter?
My careful extensive calculations were correct, as usual.According to my extensive, exhaustive analysis that runs many pages of statistics and is rarely wrong, Shapo is due to beat Zverev.
Shapo wins the doubles too! Pretty good. A long way off but when was the last time anyone has won both a doubles and a singles at a Masters?
Feliciano recently (Queens?) won singles and in doubles with Andy.
Shapovalovalovalovalov gonna win M1000 now.that's a 500.
One way is to upload to Youtube and then postI was at the match today and put all my heart (and voice) for Denis. I have many videos, does anyone know how I can put them here from my phone ?
Shapobopanna for the dubs!Shapovalovalovalovalov gonna win M1000 now.
