This USO, which matches would you like to see?

Federer - Nadal (obvious choice)
Nadal - Djokovic (they tend to be great against each other)
Djokovic - Murray (about time they play in a Slam)
Djokovic - Soderling (ditto)

Gulbis vs. Federer (any round)
Djokovic vs. Federer (final)
Djokovic vs. Murray (the outcome will be VERY telling)
Nadal vs. Federer (semi-finals)
Isner vs. Querrey
Soderling vs. Berdych (Fed-killa marquee match!)
Nadal vs. Djokovic (although for this to happen, some of the above mentioned matches can't happen)

Oh yeah...Isner vs. Mahut (1st round )

Djokovic and Murray would be nice, agreed.

I'd also like to see Murray and Nadal have another of their hard court battles, Murray comes alive in those.

Federer v Soderling would also be interesting, they had a great match last year with Federer just about coming through. Could be a different outcome this time.

Nadal-Federer because that's the only slam where they haven't met and Nadal- Djokovic because they've never met in a slam on hard.

I really want to see Djokovic vs Murray at the US Open. Both play very well there, and we need to see them go at it in a slam. This is the match I want to see more than any other.

Second is Fedal.

Soderling against Fedal would be great also.

With Djokovic in the number 2 seed, depending on how the draw shapes out, it is now possible that he can play murray in the SF.

djokovic vs murray
federer vs nadal(derp)
soderling vs nadal
soderling vs davydenko

Oh man, there are so many to choose from:

Nadal vs Federer (Final)

I would say Davydenko vs Federer but he zero chance of winning!

Oh I forgot......

Gulbis vs Federer
Berdych vs Federer

Djokovic vs Roddick (I think this would be tense!)

Federer-Roddick final. A 5 set match where Roddick finally wins and Roger explodes because it wasnt in his programming to lose to Roddick.

Djokovic-Murray final. A 5 set match filled with UE's and double faults from these mental midgets and neither can finish the match until Djokovic wins 82-80 in the 5th set tiebreak

Verdasco-Nadal semi final. Just because

federer-nadal ():)
djokovic-murray (hope for djoko)
federer-roddick (if roddick can beat federer)
gulbis-baggy (love them both)
nadal-davydenko (interesting matchup)

Selfishly I would like to see Blake-Nadal. They always seem to bring the best out of each other, and all of their matches are usually tight and high-quality.

I'd want to see Fed-Murray and see if Muzza can finally beat Fed in a slam.

Nadal-Soderling. Nadal-Djokovic. Everything else has pretty much been mentioned.

I really want to see Nadal-Roddick for once in a slam. I think it would be very interesting to just watch their completely contrasting styles and see if Nadal can wear down Roddick on a fast HC.

Can anyone tell me if these 2 have ever met in a slam, because I honestly can't remember any? The problem is Roddick almost always ends up on Fed's side of the draw (only recent exception was 09 Wimby when Nadal withdrew) combined with Roddick never making it far enough at the FO and Rafa usually not making it far enough on the HCs.

I doubt Roddick will beat Nadal given their current forms. Sure, Roddick will have the surface advantage and the crowd on his side, but I don't expect him to win more than a set if they meet. The surface is really irrelevant IMO, when Nadal is motivated and confident, not many can beat him.

Roddick clobbered Nadal USO 04 when Nadal was pre-pubescent and Rod was in his prime.

I'm not so sure about that. Nadal has really struggled at the USO against Top 10 players (he beat #11 Gonzalez in last year's QFs but I don't believe he's ever beaten anyone ranked higher). He's had the benefit of quite easy draws the last couple years to reach the SFs, but if he has to meet a big hitter like Roddick in the QFs or even R16 that might be trouble. Saying the surface is irrelevant takes it a bit too far IMO given the problems it's caused in the past for Rafa's knees as well as just how incompatible fast HCs are with his defensive, sliding style.

That said, if Rafa stays completely healthy, I'd probably agree that he would beat Roddick on their current forms (I could see them splitting the first 2 sets and then Rafa wearing him down in the 3rd and 4th). But I'd still want to see this matchup just because of his problems at the USO and the fact that they haven't played in a GS since Rafa hit his prime.

I would love to see Nadal playing nobody but a big hitter in every round to reach the finals. Of course, that will never happen because he will never beat every big hitter to even reach the finals on a fast hard court. I predict there will be claims of an injury before the USO is finished, or after HIS USO is finished.

Completely agree. Roddick can't beat Nadal at all. Especially on hard courts.

Soderling vs Nadal or Federer in the final and I hope he wins.

He has to add more dimensions to his game though. A drop shot and improved volley game would go a long way. Until he add and/or improves those elements in his game, he's not ready to win slams. But let's see if he can surprise us all.

Nadal-Simon

I liked their Madrid match a lot, and 2009 AO was deceptively close. I hope Simon will regain the form that led him to #6; we need more alternatives to the power hitters that dominate the tour.
