Throwing a football: serve power training

Internal shoulder rotation is the aspect of the throw that is similar and valuable to learning the serve.

High speed video is necessary to show ISR. See seconds 9-10. A frame rate of 30 fps is too slow and is very likely to be misleading for motion this fast.

A football throw that demonstrates ISR, much clearer video. The added hand speed from ISR comes from ISR with some angle (rapidly changing) in the elbow. The serve ISR uses more the angle between the forearm and racket to produce racket head speed. In addition to ISR, other motions of the throws and serve also contribute to speed.

Throw demo equivalent of the Waiter's Tray serve with little upper arm rotation. Don't copy this unless your can find the upper arm ISR rotation in it.

The bottom line is that if you know or can learn how to use ISR on the throw or football throw it might benefit learning the ISR on the serve. But if you are not verifying the upper arm ISR with high speed video, who knows whether you are doing the throws correctly?
