Nadal will easily beat overrated Gonzales in straight sets and will whip Federer's ass in the final. I hope this time Federer does not cry intentionally to take the spotlight away from Nadal :)

Really? That's why he's beaten him 3 times?

While Nadal has beaten him their last five meetings.... the last few came during Rome and the 4th round of the Aussie. Does a 6-3,6-2,6-4 score scream of conviction for Gonzalez's chances against Nadal on hard? Not quite. Nadal in straight sets.

Kind of not fair when Gonzalez got beaten physically to a pulp by Richard Gasquet in the previous round; a match that went well into the night. Something like 5 hours.

I think you underestimate Gonzalez and how well he is playing. It's not a fluke that he beat Tsonga.

Gonzalez is by no stretch of the imagination overrated, unless your mindset is still stuck in early 2007.

If Nadal reaches the finals, you'll be damn lucky if Nadal can still move by then. Hard courts, epecially US Open courts, aren't kind to his grandpa knees.

Over four hours I believe, you come up with a good point, fatigue did to some degree help Nadal win but its not it had any real noticable effect on his play, he was still thoroughly outplayed that match. I do not underestimate Gonzo, I applaud him for getting this far however while he has a backhand and forehand that can hit some incredible winners, its as of late been inconsistant as hell, he just doesn't have the tools to beat Nadal. Is he playing incredible tennis at the moment? Yes absolutely, but he'd have to be playing at AO 2007 levels to take it to Nadal.

If Gonzalez can connect, than Nadal is in big trouble. There's a small chance for the upset, but I think it can happen.

Nadal needs an easy match let's hope it happens. :)

Upset a lot more likely than most people think, Gonzalez has been playing well all tournament and caught fire in the last two matches. Nadal's form OTOH has varied a lot from one match to another. On this very fast surface I think Gonzalez' massive forehand and most importantly his clutch serve, which was impressive against Tsonga, will give him the upperhand. Besides he is a fighter and won't fear getting into a 5th set with Nadal.

I predict a Gonzo win in 4!

I watched some of murray-cilic, that was devastating. I had cilic down as a hard court contender last year but thought it would have been a little while longer before cilic could do that to one of the top guys.

I have been having a good time overall watching nadal and federer. :) Murray and djokovic have been pretty listless this tournament imo. Verdasco had another decent showing which was good to see, I hope that guy keeps improving. I would like to see a federer/nadal match on fast hard courts before federer gets too old so I am hoping that will happen.

Off to watch the match! Later,

You know, if I was playing Nadal I would accidentally hit the ball at his perfectly place drinks on the side of the court and see if that messes with his head.
