So Michelle Larcher de Brito, at 15, has reached the 3rd round of two tier I tournaments: Miami, now Montreal. Here, she had to qualify.
She took Serena to 3 sets (I won't tell you what she did to Kuznetsova today).
She's definitely a talent, and I wanted to see her perform. Well, she's good, very good, playing a la Capriati, perhaps. She may well be a top 10 in two years, who knows.
But her SQUEALING is atrocious. What Seles started and Sharapova continued has reached in this talented tennis specimen the heights of disgrace: her squeal accompanies the ball from her racquet to the contact of the opponent (not just the exhalation), on a very high level. As the commentators here said: what Sharapova does is by comparison a whimper.
The WTA should do something about Sharapova and her (too late for the other, Seles), and the whole squealing, otherwise tennis courts will be soon nothing but a circus.
