Rooting for Stan this time around?

A second Slam would shut a lot of folks up (about supposed fluke Major), although I think Stan has started winning a lot of people over.

You stated it quite accurately, sir. ;) :)
Wouldn't actually mind Tsonga winning it all either, as being one of these so-called 'also rans' just the same.

Staminal can beat anyone on any given day, so can Tsonga but Wawrinka is the broski with the Davis Cup and Slam to his name.

I expect there won't be much love for Stan from the French crowd when he plays Jo-W tomorrow!

I'm hoping Wawa can win because I believe he makes a better match for the other favourite Djokovic. Would love a Djokovic-Wawrinka final (it being a great match).

The SFs and F of RG this year are a pure pleasure for me, because I truly do not care who wins and I like all the players.

If Murray wins, he sort of solidifies his place in the Big Four and now is would be more like Big Two. ;)

If Novak wins he has a chance at a CYGS.

If Tsonga wins, it's the first win there for a French player since Noah, which I remember.

And if Stan wins he proves (to me) that his AO win was more than a fluke. ;)

I don't mind who wins. But since I'm partial to Wawrinka, I'd prefer it if he did.

Well Tsonga had four MP against Djoko at RG 2012...and he's even more fit today...

Yet, I think they remain relatively friendly.

Of course they will. They are colleagues, they have known each other for years.
Not that different from any other kind of competetive professional situation.
From my personal experience from the bar, know what, you rip each other to threads in court, and after the dust has finally settled again, you meet up afterwards, congratulate the winner and... have a beer together. ;)
You win some, you lose some. It's part of the job.

The media tries to blow up every little incident they can find, because for some kind of stupid reason they seem to think that the crowd enjoys that kind of stuff. Well perhaps stupid folks do, but sure hell, I don't know why...

I'll be rooting for Stan, but no hard feelings should Jo-Willie be able to pull out the win. May it be a great match!

Wawrinka in 4. His game is built for the clay , great groundstrokes, beast of an athlete. Tsonga's in the big server mold with an all court game. He always gets a boost on his home court, but ultimately clay neutralizes his style of game

No grown man will likely admit that he would swap his career with a current competitor. You have to go out and battle these guys mentally for the next 7-8 yrs, you cant cede that mental edge to a future opponent by saying that. It would be a different story if they asked about Fed or Nadal bc they are really in their own level, but if its an equal you wouldnt want to admit that .

I would go with the simple answer. Jo has worked hard to achieve his current level/status. He probably has a lot of fond memories about matches, victories, tournaments and all the hard moments between them. Because of this he is(should be) proud of his career and wouldnt slap it for anything.

Its like to have the 5th best dad in the world and choose to change him with the 4th best dad in the world.

And for the record, they are pretty much equal.

Australia - F,SF(TS), W,SF(Wa)
Roland - 2xSF(TS), SF(WA)
Wimbledon - 2xSF, QF
Us Open - QF, SF
Masters - 2(3),1(3)
WTF - F, 2xSF

Tsonga still a very erratic player. You never know what to expect from him. Wawrinka plays the big matches better nowadays.

Save for Toronto last year.

This is by far the most exciting GS semifinal in a while. Tsonga had two days rest and will be ready to give Wawa a great fight after demolishing Berdych and winning a 5-setter against the Ninja on clay.

Tsonga's serve game has been amazing so far. Expect tight sets and a few TB as in their previous RG encounters.

Weather will be really hot at mid-day, wondering who that might favor ?
