Oops, someone mistakenly interpreted my opinion as dissapproving. How could that have happened?

Nice work on scoring the deals. I could definitely cruz a RR sport!

My (sincere) apologies GRANITECHIEF; my bad....and me dumb. mea culpa

nhstennis: I did test drive a FX35 and the 'exhaust note' did strike a chord in me. I'll level with you: my next door neighbor, a woman who was aware that I was an "Infinity" person, asked me about my impressions of Infinity's in general (reliability, service, etc.), because she was considering an FX35. I gave Infinity a two 'thumbs up' and she went out and got one (in black). She also knew that I was about to get "something new" and I told her that I wanted to STAY in the Infinity family, but that each model had a "minus" consideration to it, ranging from the FX's "station wagon" look, the way-too-big Q56, the increasingly 'blah' Q45 (which was bad in the snow) and the 'rear' styling of the 'M' series (an otherwise very sweet car). She said that she thought the FX35 was (in her opinion) a girlie-looking car. Though I thought the front was/is narly-looking, overall it did strike me as having a touch of "soccer mom" (read: station wagon) to it.

That said, I was looking hard & heavy at the Infinity 'M' series and test drove them as well--sweet cars. The M45's engine won the day-hands down; an absolutely beautiful beast sits under the hood of the M45! But a more practical (winter-driving) purchase would've been the M35-X (all-wheel not available on the M45). However, stupid me, I couldn't get over a stupid 'cosmetic' consideration style-wise respective to the "plastic overkill" that comprised the rear lights: i.e. the HUGE...AND WAY TOO MUCH RED PLASTIC rear lights which made an otherwise pretty good-looking car look cheap for a car in its class. Maybe I should've sucked it up and bit the bullet as far as that 'style' point consideration went. But anyway, with respect to the R.R. Sport, it was a "love-at-first-sight" thing, plus the test drive ride proved so solid. When I saw "my" particular R.R. Sport featured on the showroom floor (featuring the 'extra' factory-installed, added-on accessories), I was blown away by its looks. And it was a pretty scare vehicle at the time because they weren't yet available via a leasinig program (buy or bye-bye). Maybe not the most prudent of purchases, but then again, I've never been accused of being too practical (i.e. "bright"). :) Regards.

Hhahaha, DP, my wife's uncle's been an Infiniti guy for like ten years now. Just got the new M45 -- lives in a warm/dry climate, so no need for the M35x.

Like you (and I, among others), he had a problem with the overuse of red plastic on the rear end (I feel the same way about certain women), so he took it to a custom shop and got them covered in a smokey gray. I thought it would come out cheesy, but it came out much bettah.

The thought of a portly old white guy talking about the nuances of rear lampcovers at a tuner shop was hysterical to me. Thought they might talk him into a whaletail and a bodykit....maybe some curbfeelers and a couple of plasma monitors while he was in there.

"Ma !!!..... 'Uncle Joey' turned the 'M' into a low-rider!"

You ARE da man, slice~! LMAO (although, when I think of that 'smokey gray' alternative you mentioned....hmmm, I wonder what if I had the 'marbles' to think of that......)

You nailed it, man, haha! I envision him either with the boys over at West Coast Customs or some cool lowrider chopshop with the WAR record on endless loop.

Here is an official statement from X-IBIT and the crew at Wes' Coas' Customs.

"Our man, Uncle Curtis and his ride are gonna be equally at home at the club...and at da club.

He makes his livin' in the world of finance, so we decided to do up the interior in this thousand dollah bill pleather. And so he can track his commodities and stocks and bonds....we got a real-time ticker where we'd normally put a Playstation2. And since Curt is obviously is a cool, pimped-out tennis playin' playah from the west side, we got him some retro 80's Ivan Lendl argyle graphics on the hood scoop, a EVIAN spring water dispenser in da console fo' his matches....and a SAM ball machine that shoots balls out da trunk. All Uncle Curty need to do is back his M45 up to whatever court he's got booked at the club and POWPOWPOW, practice time.

Uncle Curtis, you've officially been...pimped out."

Anyone else think that sounds like Westwood? He's the 49 year old "wigga" (ie. Utter prat) who runs the UK's version of Pimp My Ride. Seriously, try find some UK Pimp My Ride on Youtube it's utterly pathetic! who wants to see a 1980's Fiat Panda (which barely runs) be spray painted Flourescent yellow with Ali 3 stenciled on the roof?

My dad thought the 35 was enough, that pic is when it was just a week old. The car is now a year and a half old. My dads turning into a treehugger..when this car's finance period is over he wants to get an accord hybrid...maybe camry

If he wants to sell it, I'll buy it for $200. Or I have some good rackets to trade... ;-)

My main ride is a 2004 Toyota 4 runner.
My wife has a 2003 Honda accord.

I really want a BMW Z4.

Just don't want to get the Z4 and lose 1/2 of everything in the process.

by the time the financing is over on that car...there won't be accord hybrids. they're pulling the plug from the 08s.

unfortunately...i had to thankfully take an 03 toyo matrix...looking at some civic si's for next year.

Then I take it you're not a "Cher" fan? :)

Haahhaha, no...not that I would actually claim it even if I were a fan of hers (and owned the Moonstruck dvd).

Way too kind, especially coming from one of the absolute most intelligent/funny people around. Too kind...glad you got a laugh, man.

Take care,

im sure the camry hybrid will continue to sell well...especially if it's built on the prius platform...which i heard there's still a waiting list for. im actually a fan of the prius...it may not be the prettiest car...but damn...50+ highway mpg is irresistable. only downside is that they're not giving carpool passes anymore...and the people usually driving them drive so damn slow.

there's also rumors of a sports hybrid coupe from toyota....we'll see what's up w/ that

that's different. that's the type R...we dont get that here in US. we just get the coupe and sedan. there's gonna be the mugen edition of the sedan though...which should look pretty nice to some. but imo, the sedan SI's are pretty ugly...

Cool car, Wes. I dig the hardtop convertible. Part of me prefers the old 'do it by hand' tops of yesteryear, but that only works on a 2 seater. The folding hardtop is a great thing.

So, does it handle like an Audi A4 ragtop, have a roof like a Mercedes or a Lexus...and costs what, $40K or so? Hope you love, it, man. May it spend little time in the shop.

Hey wait a minute, Wes2, your vanity license plate IS the make and model of your car. You are that guy aren't you? The guy who wore that band's concert t-shirt TO that band's concert ... didn't you?;)

LOL. No, I've never done that kind of things in my life. When I first got the car few months ago, people ask me what kind of car it was almost every other day. I also frequent a VW car forum and people likes to get vanity plate with the name EOS in it. So it gave me the idea. :D

The car is a front wheel drive so it cannot compare with any rear wheel drive at all. This is my secondary car and it cost just a bit over $30K, and it's a hard top convertible. When the turbo kicks it, it's a lot of fun. I'm very happy with it. I ended up driving it much more than my primary car, a Porsche Cayenne S.

so what does the rest of the forum people drive?

future car: 05 rsx type-s...im not liking the civic si's too much these days..and they're slower than the type s, which can be bought for a good price these days
