Novak Djokovic Calls 2019 Australian Open Win His 'Best Performance In A Grand Slam Final' | ATP Tour | Tennis
Novak Djokovic, the second seed at the 2020 Australian Open, reflects on his flawless performance against Rafael Nadal in the 2019 Australian Open final.www.atptour.com
2013 SF, 7 points lost on serve all match.
Story of the Nadal in 2017-2019 - owns mugs and then he has to play Fed or Novak.AO 19 final.
No one ever did that to Nadal in a slam final, even more considering he was steamrolling everybody in that tournament.
He was playing against effing Ferrer FGS. Playing without any pressure whatsoever, with the knowledge that whatever you do and however you play, you will end up winning the match eventually. It's the same like playing against Hewitt, Roddick or Berdych. Good performance, but not a great opponent.2013 AO SF against Ferrer. I felt bad for David.
2016 against Fed he couldnt keep it up and 2019 final against Nadal was overrated.

Nadal sucked in the final in 2019 so Djokovic had to do soooo much to beat him that day.He was playing against effing Ferrer FGS. It's the same like playing against Hewitt, Roddick or Berdych. Good performance, but not a great opponent.
god the 19 version really is overrated judging from the poll results, recency bias much?
lol just because of what Djokovic said recently? you would really pick that 33 year old, declined in movement Djokovic to play for your life over the 11 SF or 13 SF peak version?
Djokovic is not even 33 today yet. Lol. He was 31.
okay my bad, but still, my point stays the same.
geez really? didn’t even know
still, would pick the 2011 version to play for my life. and he played against the best opponent from the poll.
Fed really messed up in that set when he had a confortable lead at one point.Even 2016 Fed did better than that. Not that impressed with Peakovic having to clutch out every set over Agerer. Good job to win in straights but no dominance.

2011 Djokovic would have a laugh against this Nadal
Credit should be given to Federer for somehow winning that 3rd set in 2016.It's not like Djokovic's level necessarily went down.Went with AO'11 SF. AO'13 SF was also ridiculous. '16 SF he couldn't sustain the level of the first two sets and '19 is overrated because of how poorly Nadal played.
Yeah I think it was a bit of both(Federer raising his level and Djokovic dropping his a little)Credit should be given to Federer for somehow winning that 3rd set in 2016.It's not like Djokovic's level necessarily went down.
It is agenda driven and we know why.I think you can play a peak performance at that age though. Look at Nadal in 2017 RG. It really was a spectacluar performance from Djokovic.
Agerer? Lol. The guy was 29 years old. Wasn’t Djokovic almost 29 when he played the best two sets of his life in 2016 AO SF? Didn’t Djokovic hold all grand slams and the year end championship at age 29?Not that impressed with Peakovic having to clutch out every set over Agerer. Good job to win in straights but no dominance.
GS finals are the most important matches in tennis, and Djokovic choosing this one as the best of the 16 he won is a testment to how good he played in that match."in a GS final"
It is agenda driven and we know why.
Lets hope so.I don't think his is, but yes many of the others are definitely driven by agenda.

I thought it's well documented fact that Federer is old ever since the end of 2007. 2011!? By the start of 2011, he was already an octogenarian."Best two sets of his life" I thought that was 2019 final, no?
2011 AO Federer was older than 2016 AO Djokovic by what, nine months? Add nine months to Djokovic's age then, what do you get - the lovely 2016 WTF final. A lot changes in nine months.
Taking nothing away from Murray, he earned that year end no.1 and won that final fair and square, but it’s well documented that Djokovic’s elbow was already a hindrance to him at that stage. His deterioration had nothing to do with age, we don’t know what Djokovic’s level would have been had he been in full health. He could have still been performing at peak level for all we know. What we do know is that Djokovic won the NCYGS at age 29 (while holding the year end championship), only a few months younger than the Federer of AO11. So to make out as if Federer was ancient at that stage is ridiculous, especially considering that he displayed some great tennis heading into his mid thirties, and is still a contender in his late thirties."Best two sets of his life" I thought that was 2019 final, no?

Federer played well despite the loss. His movement and ability to stay in the rallies was amazing even on a slower HC were Djokovic is king. Not that impressed with Peakovic having to clutch out every set over Agerer. Good job to win in straights but no dominance.

2019 AO Djokovic may be the highest level ever reached outside clay. The only close in this stat is 2003 AO Agassi with one of the weakest draw ever: Grosjean, Ferreira, Schuettler.
Yeah, tough to rate 2019 due to mug opposition (and only non-mug opponent was a close-ish match).
sorry but this is just out of this world, it's so laughable, i wonder don't you really see how dumb is what you saying,if you truly truly believe in it, it's the silence2011 AO Federer was older than 2016 AO Djokovic by what, nine months?
