What To Eat Before/during A Match

what do you eat/drink before a match and during a match?

i usually eat cream of wheat or oatmeal in the morning, a peanut butter sandwhich 2 hour prior, and an energy bar 30 minutes before. then i drink water and gatorade during. is this a good strategy?

I eat things like pasta's and breads before the match, but nothing within an hour of playing, except things like bananas. Peanut butter and wheat bread is a great combination. Pasta's, bagels, and complex carbs are always good. Things with sugar are bad, things that take forever to digest like meat, are even worse.

I actually had some SpaghettiOs today before I played. I haven't had those in a LONG time.

I drink a few ounces of Gotorade 30 minutes before going out.

I drink it along with water (lot's of water!) while I play and have some crackers and some energy bars in my bag when I get hungry while playing.

So it sounds like you're doing pretty well...
