What would happen if the posters openly disliking each other out there met in real life ?

Basketball: 1pt=free throw, 2= short range shot, 3= long range shot. Ok Makes sense.
Baseball: 1 run scored is for each time a base runner safely touches home plate. Ok. This makes a lot of sense.
American football: 1 point for extra point, 2 pts=2 point conversion, 2 points=safety, 3 points= FG, 6 points= TD. Once again, this makes sense. We are giving different values, based on how important the score was.
Tennis: 15-30-40, deuce, ad in, add out, except in a tie breaker. In a breaker, let's use 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 while ditching 15-30-40,deuce, add in, add out.

Tennis: I before E, except after C, but only when it's a hard E sound. However, words like weird are yet another exception.

As a tennis player, coach and follower, it troubles me that I can win more points and lose a match.

We could simplify tennis to a progressive scoring system like every other sport but nobody wants this.

I would have a drink with any person on this site and get along great. Nothing here is serious. There is not a single user here that I wouldnt enjoy meeting in real life. Actually it would be fun.

Well, except @I Am Finnish :sneaky:
If anything, TTW is a rather tame and respectful forum. The internet is litered with waaaay more toxic corners. People talk some smack here but its usually pretty chill.

Posting history here is a reflection of the real nature of people, so there is definitely a proportion of posters I would never have beers with unfortunately.. Someone who is spewing hatered and denigrating people on TTW, can't be that different in real life...

Would it be awkward ? Would they eventually become friends ? Do we really allow ourselves to be more "aggressive" behind a computer ?

Can't speak for others but i am quite friendly off computer as well as on computer. As far as drinking with them is concerned i don't drink, can't waste my money on such useless thing.

I’ve met quite a few members, but mostly for tennis. Did some food and drinks as well. Agree or disagree, none of that matters, but we give each other grief as much here too. All in fun and doesn’t matter in real life anyway.
If anything like that REALLY has people getting angry, maybe best to find other things to do.

I had fun going throught this thread. It was a reminder that some of us are just passionate about the sport, and whatever happens here, stays here.

It would be amazing to get some drinks with any of y'all. They don't have to be alcoholic, if someone doesn't drink those.

We would find an understanding that would break once we got back online again.

United supporters to stand in the corner, embarrassed. 8-B

I think suddenly seeing someone who shares a quite special interest will create much more of a binding than rooting for a different player or having some different views about tennis could divide us.

Because let's be real, a person being that interested in tennis that he/she will write thousands of posts in a forum is a rare occasion.
