Which is that one thing that makes you hate a tennis player?

Re colours yes.

Triple yes.

I was only recently bemoaning about black being safe and well overrated. You throw on black when you don’t want to make an effort. Heck, it isn’t even a colour.

I think I’ve worn black most of my life, there in the cities and offices. It’s great really. Jump out of bed and find the first black thing to throw on. You don’t even need to coordinate, it goes with everything.

It’s only when you spend time on the islands like Bali where you begin to realize how pointedly lazy black is. You can’t go out in brilliant blue skies, or pink ones, adorning black.

That feels wrong. You feel wrong.

Nope, black is chic and elegant - deja vu?

But you should have also noticed that black is part of Universe as well. There's black hole, black matters, black energy and so on, so I say your laziness is perfectly aligned with the Universe. :p

Btw black is void of all colours and white contains all colours. So what have you got against all these lovely colours? :p

But seriously, I wear black a lot too and it's pretty cool. You shouldn't feel wrong.

How about Suresh? :p
Moral number 1 of the McDonalds championships.

In this final match they allowed 3 bounces and above average net clearance. Suresh didn't take this very well and botched the final, even though he clearly played every point with dedication and talent I've only seen from guys like Rod Laver, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, etc.

Dark energy. Dark.

Dark as in physicists know something is there but have no damn clue what that thing is. 95% of it is missing if I understand correct, between dark energy and dark matter.

Black. Harrumph. Going around calling an absence of colour, a colour. It’s like negative numbers, only twaddly bankers have use for them. I hope you aren’t a banker, if you are please excuse my momentary revulsion for your chosen trade. It’s exactly not like dinosaurs, when the wings came on zoologists called them birds. If you’re a zoologist I like everything you do.

You’ve got to spend time on the islands to put black in its place. What’s wrong with black? Nothing. Nothing at all. And that’s its very problem you see.

Oh, here’s a chic picture of something. What do you think?

I hate myself when I can't control my emotions on the court. Hit a horrible shot yesterday and let out a 4-letter word that could probably be heard a mile away. I suck. :(
I swear a lot after missed shots. It's normal. I don't even hold it against the players who swear; it's not a beauty paegant. It's the bloody on court mics that capture things we don't need to hear, like Masha's grunt.

I was expecting that from you - dark energy and matter. Dark, yes I get it :p but know this - the dark matters are void of luxon (light energy and they have the opposite tendency of light energy, as in, the tend to go back in time for retract purpose - most probably); therefore, it's dark or black. So no true difference there. :p

Btw, I never said black is a colour - you implied. I merely said it's a void of all colours. Therefore, it's black or dark. There we go again!

Lmho!

That's right. Nothing's wrong with black. Do we not decide what's right and wrong after all? You can change the trend and wear black all the time on the island.

I happen to sleep in a very dark room so I am very comfortable with that picture.

Work is calling so need to go away for a bit. Catch you guys a bit later.

This is high priestess spin.

The dark history on dark matter is its a placeholder for whatever’s missing. The trouble is it’s been missing for so long we now call anything missing in physics dark this and dark that.

We need to go back to the beginning, if they figured it out we wouldn’t be in the dark. There’s no dark relativity, no dark magnetism. No dark apples boinking people on their heads inspiring thoughts of dark gravity. We don’t go around calling them dark stars and dark holes as cool as it might sound. When the math checked out we called them black stars and holes.

You can be quite sure when scientists work out what dark matter and energy are one of the first things they’ll do is head out to lunch to figure out what new terrific name they’re going to call it. Like they did with Kraken Mare.

Implied no such thing! I’ve disdained from referring to it as a colour from the first post. It’s great for snoozing in soundly, no arguments there, but that’s sort of the problem I’ve got with it. It pretends to be a colour when all it is good for is a snoozefest. That's its attractive quality: To bring out all the other colours.

Black is a background. It's also a damned fine song by the band Pearl Jam but that's for another conversation.

Us in here are pretty nuts anyway discussing tennis and players all day and night. Also all kinds of other stuff we talk about.

Our paths led in here. Pretty ridiculous and addictive at the same time.

I feel all of us are losers. But it's ok.

NO NO JUST PLAIN NO. What is wrong with you?! lmho!

I worked very hard not to see myself as a loser. I am a winner and the winner takes it all. I take it all. :)

Im just stating the truth here. Who the heck joins a forum like this and start with all what we do in here?
Its not exactly something I will proudly tell my grandkids about.

Its time to face the truth. Its really weird to be in a forum like this. Maybe not losers, we are for sure weirdoes.

I'll be honest. No one in this world, not even my sister, knows that I post on a forum but my sister may have some ideas as she's seen me typing frantically and giggling at the same time in the past. But I never tell and she never asks so I feel safe. And I'd gone through somewhat big experience just last year and yet, not a word to anyone. Umbeeleebable!

It's my hideaway place - a little secret that I have.

We should dial some physicistS up and relay this information to them and tell them, 'for the love of God please stop! STOP THIS NONSENSE AT ONCE! FULL STOP!'

How about I in a tight black dress? Would that still be a snoozefest?

When people like Tilden make the tennis hall of fame. The man should be forgotten.

People hate on Federer, even I hate on tennis players, but Tilden is the kind of person I despise the most.

Henman isn't in the tennis hall of fame. He's 50 times the man Tilden is. I would happily graffiti and take a dump on that man's grave.

End of rant

Ive even started to share it with tennis players and such. Hahahahaha. And the reaction has been pretty good. No need to hide our looser tendencies. We all have a little pathetic loser inside.

I dislike when players treat umpires like they are their employees. When players say things like "you will never work any of my matches again" to an umpire, that really irritates me. Disagreeing with an umpire is fine, providing its done within reason, but the umpire should be an independent arbitre employed by the tennis authorities, not the servant of any player's ego.

what is GGOAT ?

Greatest of all GOATs (greatest GOAT). "I have X players together as GOATs, but if I were forced to pick I'd pick player A as the greatest" position. Of course, that actually means you think player A is the GOAT, even if only by a little relative to other near-GOATs.

Different threads, it was a while ago so would have to rummage around to find the comments. P.t.t. said more than once that he places all of Gonzales, Rosewall, Laver, Federer and Nadal as co-#1s, but I'm sure I remember him mentioning in passing that he'd pick Nadal if he had to. Then he said Nadal would be the greatest if not for the injuries (now where have we heard that already?), I tried to argue with him about it, he called me a f.e.d.t.a.r.d and must have put me on ignore after a few messages, lol. Just recently P.t.t called skaj a Mecirtard just because he insisted Mecir had the best movement in the 80s, funny attitude imho.

No wonder we get along so well. ;)
Great minds hate alike? :D

My hatred for the Cowboys goes back to the 90's when they were so dominant there for a few years. Loved Packers/Cowboys and Cowboys/49ers games. Loved to see them lose to anyone though. Still do. The rest of them I listed we probably hate for similar reasons :)

Not old enough to really remember the Cowboys SB winning years, but Patriots, Yankees, Lakers, and Nadal? Absolutely. :D

That hardly seems a fair question.

My best guess is I’d yaw wildly as my skin jumps one way and my skeleton the other, while my brain works out whether or not my mouth is going to bite you.

So pro historian dislikes Nadal but thinks he's the GGOAT, a combination I've never seen before. Well played! o_O
My personal fellings towards a player's behaviour and how I rank their greatness are two completely different things. I don't dislike Nadal, though I do dislike when he says to an umpire that he won't work another of his matches again. I also dislike Federer's arrogant treatment of umpires, but this doesn't affect how great a player he is. More than anything I dislike Serena's tirade against Carlos Ramos, but I still consider her the female G.O.A.T.

As per OP, Zverev's jewellery shop and finger wagging is incredibly annoying. Add onto that his compulsive need to show off his abs 100 times a match.

Djokovic and Cilic's ball bouncing drives me nuts, especially when they don't get time violated for it (Djokovic at Shanghai I counted upwards of 30 bounces at one point....... ridiculous!!)

Cilic and Coric have fidgetty back feet that sort of tap the ground prior to ball toss - Croatian thing?

Coric's tilted cap.

In the past couple of years, especially this year, Djokovic looks like a complete idiot when he does a backhand slice. Sort of like a wacky inflatable arm flailing tube man / balloon man.

Kyrgios deliberately rushing his service games, and entering service motion before the opponent (or ball kids for that matter) have a chance to get in place.

So true. I’m crying with laughter right now!!!

Sorry, I’m bored, and that’s why I made this thread.
I’ll go first with Zverev necklaces and pair of fingers wagging.
Don’t leave me alone here, I know many of you can have these kind of feelings.
The Djoker and others exhortations to the crowd for more applause drives me nuts....That arm flapping especially!
