Who are the Nadal fans rooting for in Fed vs Nole?

Seems like a tough choice to make:

If Fed wins, he may get to 17 and break Sampras' record for weeks at #1.

If Nole wins (with him really rounding into form), he may exclude Nadal from the #1 ranking for at least another year (if not for the rest of his career). By this time next year, Nole will be pushing Nadal for total weeks at #1.

some Nadal fans became fans of Nadal because they did not like Federer or his dominance. They probably root for Novak. Others started to dislike Federer because they liked Nadal and Roger was in his way at Wimbledon, no. 1 and WTF. They will support Djokovic. I expect Nadal fans who just want to see Rafa win more in his career to root for Roger.

Some Nadal fans want Roger to win just so they can keep going on about how their boy destroys the GOAT.

It doesn't matter who wins, I'm rooting for whoever wins in Murray/Tsonga. I want either of those to win over the other 2.

Djoker. I'm old school. I was bored to death with tennis when it was Roger mopping up in his clinical, unemotional style. I didn't get tuned back into tennis until Rafa started to make a move at Wimby in 2006. As much as I hate to admit it, and as lame as it sounds, I still think in sort of a zero-sum fashion when it comes to Rafa and Roger. What's great for Fed can't be good for Nadal.

Me too. Muurya has a golden opportunity here, and if he flubs it up I don't think he will ever win a slam. This is his best chance to date, and he has to get his sh*t together and take it.

I would just like to see Nole lose for the pain he has inflicted upon Nadal and his fans for the last year or so. Even if it comes at the expense of Roger going on to win his 17th slam and eliminating even the grimmest of chances of Rafa reaching Roger's slam count, I won't mind

The part relating to Federer has no relation to Nadal. The only people who might have a vested interest in it are Sampras fans, and as I happen to be both a Nadal and Sampras fan I probably wouldnt want the part related to Nadal only due to its impacts on Sampras, nothing to do with Nadal. However as Sampras never gets just due for any of his achievements these days anyway, and would still hold a share of the Wimbledon titles record and his record of 6 year end #1s in a row all on his own, even that isnt a big deal.

Djokovic winning would have more impact on Nadal perhaps. However since I like Djokovic more than Federer I will cheer for Djokovic for that reason alone. Really though for varying reasons I would be fine with any of Djokovic, Federer, Murray, or even Tsonga winning. All would make a good story in a different way. I like Murray the second least of all those after Federer, but he is who I would prefer to win most only since he is overdue for a slam, no other reason.

Seriously.......:?

Rather Murray burn Djokovic up. Then they can have their sweet romatic story of how they grew up in tennis at the same time, the juniors, how they seperated with one going to Spain the other to Germany. Media will hype their plastic frienship like 2011 Australian Open.

Wonder if Djokovic would embrace and smile for Murray when he loses!?

If Federer plays Murray...that the worst case. Federer would be so happy to ruin Britain hopes.

Preferred finals:

Federer Over Tsonga or Murray Over Djokovic or Tsonga Over Djokovic.

Nadal has already avenged that. He's 3-1 against Djokovic in 2012.

Yep, that's how I feel lol. I just don't want him winning Wimbledon. Why Djoker over Fed for you bro?

Because I think Murray would have a better chance of beating Djokovic than Federer. Murray and Djokovic are from the same generation, while Federer is older and wiser and will have tricks up his sleeve.

That is the other reason I am rooting for Djokovic over Federer. I want Murray to win his 1st slam, and I think he is more likely to beat Djokovic in the final than Federer. He just isnt intimidated by Djokovic as much as he seems to be Federer, despite the overall H2H.

Hmm, idk guys. I thought Federer would be easier for him given the back thing, idk..... but maybe you have a point.

Not so. Nadal has only avenged it on clay and has not proven he can still beat Djokovic at non-clay slams.

The real *******s are not rooting for Fed or Djokovic and would rather have their left arm cut off than for Fed or Djokovic to win W. Extreme *******s are all voting for Murray or Tsonga to win the title.

The AO was all the proof I need and he got straight setted twice on clay last year. Rafa has reversed it and Novak clearly isn't in his head anymore. Im not worried in the least about their matchup on other surfaces now.

Sorry I don't see that. I would have agreed with you had Nadal defeated Djokovic at Wimbledon this year but he failed to make it past the second round and it remains to be seen whether or not Nadal can beat Djokovic in future non-clay slams.

Clay is just as legitimate a surface as any other. Besides, Nadal was 0-2 against Djokovic on clay in 2011, and 3-0 over Djokovic on clay in 2012. That is a turnaround.

Really? With the way Nadal seems to be stuck in dirtballer mode, and limping around on bum knees again,I think if they meet anywhere Nadal is going to lose badly. I'm not so sure that 3 wins has reversed more than a years worth of a** whippings Rolaids put on Nadal in embarrassing fashion. Especially since Rolaids is well on his way to having another 3 slam year.

I never said clay was not a legitimate surface but despite that Nadal has NOT defeated Djokovic off clay since 2010. Hardly convincing stats to prove Nadal will still beat Djokovic off clay.

I agree with all of the analysis about Murray's odds.

The most intersting question is whether a Wimby win would launch Murray's confidence and allow him to run off a few more GS's.

I think so. If murray finally manages to win a slam, he will be very dangerous for the top three in the future.

Well ideally that would be the best scenario at the moment for a Rafa fan but I don't think Murray will be able to handle the pressure

Djokovic kicked Nadal's *** on HC, clay and grass last year. Rafa just avenged his losses at clay.

Don't worry, the trend will continue.

Djokovic has nearly always led the head-to-head against Nadal on hardcourts anyway, even before 2011. Nadal would win the really important matches, though.

Nole, coz I like him more and If Roger wins, he'll probably win the title and that would make it harder for Rafa to break his record and Think that Fed doesn't deserve to be number 1 and break Pete's record

Unless Murray suddenly grows a better forehand and second serve, he'll still be vulnerable.

federer. if djokovic wins people will start talking about him as a great grass courter on par with nadal. also then he will probably have another 3 slam year . if federer wins, i think the final becomes more open for murray/tsonga. even if rog wins the title, he's still not such a big threat to nadal at future slams , it seems.

Djokovic can only lose this Wimbledon to Federer.

If Djokovic wins the semifinal, he wins the tournament. It would mean he is in his A form and is therefore unstoppable.

If Federer wins, he will be the favorite in the final, but he is always vulnerable these days. Murray or Tsonga will have a chance against him.

So, if you want Djkovic to win this title, you root for Djokovic. If you want any of the other 3 players to have a shot, you root for Federer. And if you are a real, true Nadal fan, you root for the rain, food poisoning and the final getting canceled for any reason.

Djokovic, because his fans are more decent.

But I expect a Federer win since this is a great opportunity for him and I don't think he's going to waste it. Djokovic will probably have more chances of winning Wimbledon in the future.

I agree, tennis is best when you somewhat support 1 more than the other but would like both to hit the greatest shot in the world with their next ball.

It's the same with any sport I watch. If I support a player or team heavily than I suffer from than that I enjoy it.

Hmm, yeah, although the replay is nice ;) But, also, I enjoy supporting someone, but I enjoy (and hate simultaneously) the emotions rather than the beauty of the tennis.

Telepatic, FlamEnemy, Sikserb, Daddy, Towser83, Tony48 etc. they're certainly not trolls.

Most recent troll among Novak fans was Yoda but he got banned.

Nadal fans presenting themselves as Novak fans (for example LOLville) or Fed fans doing the same (DjokovicForTheWin is the only example I know of) don't count as they're not really Novak fans. The recent GodNovak poster was definitely a Nadal fan who just wanted to troll Fed fans.

Nadal fans tend to not like anyone else as they tend to be fan girls. Not educated tennis fans.

Well, I'm a Nadal fan and a Murray fan -- so stick that up your jumper and smoke it!

I like Novak too, so a Djokovic-Murray final is what I want to see.
