heh. i keep forgetting to apply sunblock. i used to be fairly light skinned, and after a few years of tennis... i'm dark. oh... and those ankle tan lines are quite annoying.

hahah all i have to say is after playing soccer for years, a shin pad tan is way worse and funnier looking than any type of tennis tan!

I have THE worst farmers tan. Absolutely horrible, its like a dark tan on my arms to my shoulders, my legs to my knees, and my face to my neck, and then its white.

Don't even mention the sock than...

Amen to that!! I'm Hawaiian and we tan QUICK! The only tan line I have right now is the sock line. I wear the no show socks so it's just white feet that I have now...they look funny.:p

My most obvious tan is on my wrist where I wear my watch. (yes, I wear a wrist-watch when playing tennis.. and yes, it's a digital! <GASP!>)

Not proud if it, but yeah, I get really tan this time of year, too. Major tanlines at the wrist, ankles, shorts and collar areas.

A guy I hit with a lot is Greek and Lebanese (just like the famous Markos Baghdatis). He's pale in the winter....but could pass for Indian/South Asian/Pakistani every summer.

i have the worst farmers tan on my arm. my fore arm is super tanned then my elbow up is pale white

I think generally that women really dig tennis players...but they've got to laugh at us about our ridiculous tanlines this time of year.
Very true amigo, but think of how they'd laugh if we were slathering BRONZING FOAM on our feet? :)

I have the 'usual' same tan lines that most tennis players get, and, ur, well, I also to take Joey outside for some 'air' while I'm playing....especially when my opponent's facing break point, 2nd serve. Btw, Joey's got a nice summer glow goin'

Yea, super tanned but I've got tan lines from my shorts, t-shirts, and shoes. I look kinda ridiculous. I hate wearing a bathing suit with a tan like this, lol.

My last year of high school tennis, I was coming home from a game with my mom, and she asked me if I was wearing stockings/pantyhose, whatever.... Oh yea, I always wear stockings to tennis games....

This year for school tennis, I had a tan line from our shirts because they were collared and in the middle of my chest had a triangle of tan skin while the rest of my chest was white.

I tan quicker than anybody. I've been known to get dark from one hour in cloudy, overcast weather. Yea, that easily. It was even worse during high school marching band years when I'd be in the sun for 8 hrs a day.

I think I've been playing so much in the sun that I've actually sunburned my lips.

If you burn easily or are fair-skinned, I'd recommend either wearing a
good SPF sunscreen (do some research on which sunscreens are actually effective) or an sun-protecting shirt if you play a lot outdoors

I'm EXTRAORDINARILY pale by nature. I've gotten a lot of sun from tennis though (even though I've only played for a few months), but the parts that are covered by my shirt, shorts, and socks are still pretty damned white (despite the fact I've gone swimming quite a bit this year....)

Here's the difference between my upper arm and forearm (cut from a random picture, where I'm inside so it's not quite as drastic as it looks outside):

What's worse is when you go get a haircut and your neck and sideburns area are lighter than the rest of your face.

A guy I know always plays tennis shirtless and is outside a lot. For 2 or 3 weeks he had a duct tape cross on his back 24-7.

The resulting tan line was awesome.
