Who is your favourite current male player

I’ve always been a big fan of Mischa. What are you on about? ;)

I like Mischa enough, but when can you see him unless he upsets a top player like he did a couple years ago with Murray at the AO? Been a while since I've seen him even with extra exposure at Wimbledon where he should do well! Being unseeded didn't help him I guess going out in the 1st round! :sneaky:   ;)

I don't think this is very scientific, but from my five months here, I think Fedfans predominate.

Me? Even split in my loyalties to Rafa and Novak.

He does rank low in it. Just above Federer.
Just curious why you rank him above Federer. Didn't Sampras have a hard time against baby Hewitt, Safin and baby Roddick, who were in turn demolished by Fed himself? Not to mention Scud was caning prime Sampras at Wimby '99 before having to withdraw due to a career threatening injury?

You can't not love Ivo Karlovic.

It takes me back to the 70's when most players were S & V'rs who got into serving wars! In Chicago when we still had men's events along with the ladies, I got to watch the epitome of the era below the likes of Borg and Connors; a final with John Alexander and Roscoe Tanner! It went the distance just like a John Isner match of today with Roscoe Tanner eeking out a 3 set TB marathon; 7-6,6-7, 7-6! :cautious:  ;)

I'd usually root for the underdog, the challenger who's facing a huge mountain, yet will keep fighting to achieve greatness others thought he'd never reach (and maybe never will).
Thus Djokovic. :p

Djokovic an underdog! LMAO i just...can't...

any1 in top 100 n stay there long enough will be ok for me to copy the beautiful ball striking techniques of legs/body/footwork/weight shifting etc from, lololol not w/ dats speed/rpm though but the efficent/effective free swings. happy even if reach only 1/2 of their speed/rpm in my daily dosage of >1000 shots n it's absolute thrill......man oh man.........nothing feel better than that.......lucky n proud to be a addict of it, from standpoint of staying young n healthy.

btw swisscow n spainishbull might be stand out a bit as thanks to the 2 top guns i bought more than a dozen their 'signatured' pro drives n wilson ks dirt-cheap from their blindfold following fanny/fancy players who got te/wrist etc etc injuries due to copying 'hand/arm only' w/ straight chinese chopstick legs n no body rotation in their once/twice wkly play, lololol man.

In the Slams race, he is the underdog - he still has a 5-Slams gap to close, objectively this is huge and time is limited (it'll be harder as he gets older, and young ATGs will have to show up some day in the future...). In this competition, Federer has been and still is the official defender, Nadal the official challenger - for ages.

Or he'd need a CYGS to make tennis history, this crazy hard achievement that's only been done by two male players since Slams exists (two times when the field was split between amateurs and pros, one time in the open era but with shorter AO draw and two surfaces only - so his challenge is harder). Reasonable odds are that he fails at this, he's the underdog against Laver's and Budge's legacies.

At a RG match against Nadal, he's the underdog - unless Nadal is injured. Even at this AO, before his semi, many thought Nadal would be the favourite (as Nadal crushed his opposition with ease, whilst Djokovic lost sets againdt Shapovalov and Medvedev)...

Barely a year ago, many thought his career was over. He was an underdog (still was the underdog last year at Wimbledon).

And in a popularity contest, he's clearly the underdog - more people cheer for Federer (the icon for elegant game, and incumbent GOAT who set new heights) and Nadal (the incarnation of raw forehand power and relentless fighting spirit). Djokovic has often been perceived as the third wheel, the unloved one who's trying to spoil the highlighted duel. That's unfair to him, yet there have even been talks whether he'd really belong to the same category as the other two (this has now been settled with his last three slams, hopefully for good). He's still less loved, though.

Of course, the "underdog" does have a chance at upsetting the odds (and the quality, talent and effort required to have such a non-zero chance), otherwise it'd be useless to root for him (excepted, perhaps, when hoping there'll be an honorable defeat).

And underdog, that surpassed Sampras' slam record, spent almost 240 weeks on top of rankings (top-5 all-time!), over 120 of which is his best consecutive streak (top-5 all-time again suprassing even Sampras!)! made 24 gs finals, achieved career grand slam, the only one to win 4 in a row on three different surfaces, 3 different streaks of 3 consecutive GS titles or more won (stands alone!), 5 times World Tour Finals champion (again tied with Sampras only trailing Federer's 6!), 5 YE#1 finishes (tied with Federer only trailing Sampras' 6!), the only player to win all different masters tournaments at least once, an all-time 7 AO titles record holder and most importantly leads both Federer and Nadal in h2h, except Rafa at grand slams and yet managed to pull off a grand slam victory against both of them at ALL four grand slams, including sole victory over Rafa at RG (in form or not!), 73 pro career titles, 52 of which are either masters, YEC or grand slams (which is 71% of all his titles LOL)...!...an underdog my a-s-s! GTFO with your bull! LOL As far as achievements goes he is their equal! LMAO No matter what you personally think of it! Now popularity is the whole different story, no arguments there...but achievements isn't about popularity and 15 slams and 20 slams isn't AS much of a gap as you make it out to be...

All other players who made 4 consecutive had a home advantage in one of the 4 slams

personally all the goats stuff has nothing to do w/ me at all n absolutely 0 relevant w/ their winning/losing/fame/glory/$$$ etcetcetc n funny so many silly self labeled fans abuse each other for those goats private stuff, or even abuse the goats verbally.....lolololol, man oh man, give them a break n give urself a break n focus on ur own stuff. remember an old nun sis. teresa said 'the world will be clean if every1 cleans own door step' something which quite right............

the only thing i can benefit from all these is learn the basic techniques from those goats or even most top atp300 will do bcs their perfect tech/form minimizes the wear/tear to out last opponents n to be the 'last 1 standing', so it helps me enjoy hitting >1000 topspin everyday to fix my craving w/o wearing/tearing/exhaustion etcetcetc, pure enjoyment. nothing more nothing less.........

hahaha I remember this photo! I am not sure which is my favorite image of him, this or the one from Wimbledon c.2009. with the gold bag and the silky jacket and trousers.
He got paid a boat load of money to look this daft. I love Fed but SMH at this one as well as the Wimby pimp look.
