Why are there so many foot faults at the US Open?

The line judges actually calling them might be a start ?

Exactly, These guys foot fault often. They seldom get called. I watched a team tennis match where Roddick started many of his service motions with his left foot touching the service line before he even tossed the ball.

They are calling fooot faults much more this tournament then I have ever remembered. Usually the only person I saw foot faulting would be Safin. I really think they are trying to call more foot faults just to rectify the whole Serena Williams thing from last year. If they call enough of them then it will make it seem like they didn't do it just because it was a Williams sister. It's not that they are not actually faulting because they are, but the are calling for it much more regularly so far.

that was going to be my response. After the whole Serena thing and the complaints that they never call them they probably told their line judges to actually start calling people for it. Good, its been a problem for a while and they need to consistently enforce it.

It is a good thing to call them... assuming they don't wait until Match point or Break point in the 3rd to do it. If you are going to call it (which I support) call it each and every time you see it.

I remember last year Federer has been called for a foot fault too. I follow him since so many years and I never seen Fed called for a FF besides that

Why don't they just ignore the foot fault, its not gonna make a big difference if they touch the line or not, what do you guys think?
