On paper, both line up that way, but anything can happen, where the expected it turned on it ear.
Regarding other one sided men and women finals, there were a few. For examples:
2003: Henin def. Clijsters - 6-0, 6-4
Ferrero def. Verkerk - 6-1, 6-2, 6-3
1988: Graf def. Zvereva - 6-0, 6-0
Wilander def. Leconte - 7–5, 6–2, 6–1
While the Wilander match would seem more competitive in the 1st set (it was--great tennis), Leconte's wheels fell off so quickly in the next two, that the match can be honestly described as one-sided, as it was clear Leconte only had enough to throw everything in up front, but fizzled.
The last time Ferrer and Nadal played it was a quick and painless death of David. David was just coming back after the AO and Nadal well we all know seven months and two tournaments back. Nadal should take it in four sets with David struggling to get that one set. Serena hasn't played well at the FO in her history either has Sharapova. Serena 6-3 6-2 in just over an hour. There won't be long points in this match.
What? The last 2 times they played Ferrer has taken a set and pushed Nadal very hard. Acapulco is a distant memory.
Has there ever been a Grand Slam tournament where both the mens and womens finals produced a one sided affair?
It looks like we're heading that way.
