Wimbledon 2007-Men´s Singles Thread

Who will win Wimbledon?

For the Nadal haters out there Youzhny is losing to Simon 2 sets to 1. Just reminding them that Youzhny is not a threat on grass. I said it before and I´ll say it again. In Nadal´s half the QF between him and Berdych decides who goes to the final. Forget Hewitt. He ain´t beating either of them if they´re on. I dunno if Hewitt even gets to the SF to be honest. He didn´t look good against the British WC.
 
Llodra wasted 2 set points and a 4-1 lead in the tie-break vs Berdych.
Nieminen-Mayer are playing the 5th set.
Simon leads 4-3 in the 4th and 2 sets to 1 vs Youzhny.
Blake and Ljubicic won in straight sets.
Ferrero beat Muller in 4 and Arthurs beat Robredo in straights.
 
Youzhny escaped and won 6-4 in the 5th. As a Nadal fan, I don´t care really. I think Soderling would be tougher for Nadal than Nieminen or Youzhny.
Berdych has a good draw until the QF but he is struggling to beat Llodra, that´s not impressive.

Llodra is a pretty darn good serve and volleyer. Those guys are always dangerous on grass. I saw most of that match and Llodra was hitting some pretty impressive volleys.

Well, Llodra recently decided to focus on singles again after being a strictly doubles specialist for a few years. He's really using his experience to his andvantage and I'm not really surprised that he's doing well here.
 
Berdych d. Llodra 7-6 7-6 3-6 7-6. He simply played better in the big points but it was a tight match.
Djokovic beat Delic in 4 sets. Nalbandian is looking good. Cañas-Mirnyi 1 set all.

Didn't expect such an easy win. Kiefer hates to play Santoro, but he stayed focused all the time. Quite impressive in only his 3rd match after being out for over a year.
 
Australian Wayne Arthurs prolonged his farewell from professional tennis, turning in a second-round upset of World No. 7 Tommy Robredo on Thursday at Wimbledon.

Arthurs succeeded in notching a dominant victory as he hit 14 aces and 46 winners to deny the No. 11 seed 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3 in just under two hours. Robredo, who was attempting to match his best career showing at Wimbledon by reaching the third round, became the first Top 10 player to bow out of the main draw.

That's nice to see, but Robredo isn't exactly top 10 material on clay. ;)
Arthurs serve is a big weapon on grass against anyone except Federer.
 
Dancevic took the 3rd set against Nalbandian but I can´t see him coming back from 2 sets down. Baghdatis is waiting for the winner of this match.
Davydenko survived in the 3rd set tie-break. Guccione leads by 2 sets to 1.
 
Davydenko came back from 2 sets down against Guccione. Guccione missed a golden chance here. Davydenko vs Monfils in 3rd round.
 
Davydenko has won more matches on grass this month,than in his whole carreer!lol :p

Nalby-Baggy third round.Can't wait!!

Guccione should've won this macht. Davydenko is easier for Monfils than Guccione I think. Davy's dream run on grass has to stop somewhere...

I cannot watch any of these matches, only women´s.
 
Tursunov choked in the 2nd set. He wasted multiple break points and lost serve at 4-5. 1 set all.
Tipsarevic leads Gonzalez 2-1 but I wouldn´t be surprised to see Gonzalez coming back.
 
Gonzalez is yelling almost as hard as Sharapova, it´s being annoying.
Play suspended. Now ask the tournament director why Federer and Roddick matches are scheduled the last.

Tipsarevic down 2-5 in the 5th and he broke Gonzalez. 4-5, he serves to level the match.
Ljubicic is down 2 sets to 1 against Mathieu and 1-3 down in the 4th. His poor performances in the majors are amazing for a former no. 3 in the world.
Blake takes the 1st set vs Ferrero 6-3.
 
Gonzo and Tip are dragging this match too long.We wont see Safin vs Fed unless it doesnt rain anymore which is unlikely to happen.
 
Tipsarevic wins 8-6 in the 5th!!

What a comeback, he was down 2-5 and 0-30 and saved matchpoint later. Vamos Tipsa!

Ljubicic is out. Mathieu is waiting for...Roddick?
 
great match to watch...good for Tipsarevic to win a tough 5 setter against a top 10 player for a change and even saving a MP. Time and time again he came short when it countedin the past.
Sad for Gonzo to lose like this, but he'll bounce back
 
Haas beat Tursunov in 4 tight sets.

Blake-Ferrero are 1 set all. The winner plays Tipsarevic in 4th round, it seems a good chance for the winner to reach the QF.
