And Federer and Ferrer will be in opposite halves

Yep.

It is also possible to know which group of players that a given top4 seed could be drawn to play in R3/R4

Paire, Dolgopolov, Anderson, Chardy, Dimitrov, Fognini, Benneteau, Robredo are possible R3 draws for the top 4 seeds.

Haas, Tipsarevic, Almagro, Kohlschreiber are possible R4 draws for the top 4 seeds.

You really do post some ignorant @rsegravy. You have to be one of the least knowledgeable posters on this site.

Wimbledon men's seeds are computed from the rankings and grass performance over 2 years and have been for over a decade now.

some so-called tennis fans think the seeding is all random, that someone just arbitrarily puts numbers beside players. Boggles the mind. Come on folks. There's such a thing as google if you're really that clued out.

Excellent. Excellent.
Brits got Murray perfectly situated.
Now just tweak the courts and every possible aspect of the tourney to favor the Scot!

Why are people asking why Murray is seeded over Federer and not Djokovic?
Murray has actually beaten Federer at Wimbledon. Djokovic hasn't!

Murray has never beaten Federer at the Wimbledon tournament. At the Olympics he did. But never at Wimbledon, the tournament. Just to clear things up for some people who maybe don't understand what you're talking about.

True. But the fact remains that Murray has beaten Federer on grass in best of 5 in the last grass match they played. Djokovic has never beaten Federer on grass and yet people never seem to question why Djokovic is seeded over Federer, only why Murray is!

RFederer seeded below AMurray. This is an scandal,a outrage and a digrace.

And you can bet the farm that the scheming Brits will not put Murray in the same half as Djokovic.

Has no one posted the Wimbledon seeding formula here for those who are still confused?

Here it is:

Add the following to a player's entry ATP points (the week before Wimbledon):

- 100% points earned for ALL grass court tournaments in the past 12 months.

- 75% points earned for BEST grass court tournament in the 12 months before that.

Anyone else thinks it is a bit of an advantage to be seeded 5th ? Ferrer is arguably the weakest player of top 8 on grass and if you are seeded 5, you could possibly play him in the QF while avoiding real threats like Tsonga , Berdych and Delpo on grass.

Wimbledon clearly rigs draws (Isner-Mahut repeating after their epic is a clear giveaway) and there is no way they are going to put Rafa in anyone else's quarter but Ferrer's.

That's what will probably happen.

Well there you have it. There is an actual formula so the seeding can't really be argued.

Bit of a joke to be honest that Rafa is 5th seed. Arguably should be 1st (on form), let alone 5th.

Form on WHAT? Dirt? Seems to me, they're taking into account form on the actual surface the event is being contested on; remind me again, what was the result of the last match that BP played on grass, and, against whom?

I think the point is that a computer using a rolling yearly "point roll-off" method of ranking doesn't account for a player who was injured or out-of-form last year... but winning everything in sight in the current year.

There is no human around who thinks that Nadal should not be ranked #1 or #2 based on his performance at IW and in the clay season. But the computers will not allow that because Nadal didn't register that many points last year.

The system has been inherently flawed because current rankings are based more on performance 12 months ago... than performances last week.

No human around, huh? How important you must be to be able to speak for all mankind. Why are you talking about dirt and a hard court tournament when this is on grass? And, btw, what was BP's last result on grass?

they HAVE a seeding committee, they're just too chicken to use it. IMHO the seedings make more senses as:

Djokovic
Nadal
Federer/Murray
Murray/Federer
etc.
etc.

The scary seed is really Haas. I know someone voiced the opinion that Isner should scare everyone..I would suggest that only those who have NO return of serve (like Isner or maybe Mahut) need to worry. Other than that, he'll hand it over in four.

Why not seeds 17-24 could play the top 4 seeds? Writing off the boy who slayed your hero last year at Bercy.

Credit must go to the seeding committee for using common sense and seeding John Isner 3 places above his ranking in 18.
