Winning at least 1 slam per year...

Nadal: 10 years (2005-2014)
Federer: 8 years (2003-2010)

and now with Djokovic pulling out for the season he's capped at 6 years: (2011-2016)

I hope people appreciate that with all of Nadal's injuries compared to the rest of the Big 3 members who were all healthy and never skipped a single slam, he was still able to win a slam for 10 years in a row. Remarkable really.

Uh you got it backwards OP. It's because Nadal took so much time off that he was able to consistently gear up for his pet slam each year. If he played as much as the other big 3, he'd never had won as much.

Thank you.

I'm about to make sure Daenarys remembers the north ;)

Get your priorities straight, Jon. You've got an army of the dead fast approaching. You can bang your aunt on your own time

Reminded me when Fed lost to Djokovic in AO 2008. It would've been 19 consecutive GS Finals .
Yeah but in retrospect losing to the future AO GOAT doesn't seem quite so bad. Losing to Nishikori on the other hand(and a tired one at that) was inexcusable on Djokovic's part and their H2H ever since then makes it all the more frustrating. I was mad as all hell with Novak that day.

I remember watching that match. That whole tournament was weird, but I couldn't stand the commies talking about how the heat affected Djokovic. Nishikori was playing in those same conditions.

Yes good point.

Plus the French is still a slam. It's almost spoken about on this forum by some that it is not.

Welcome to the world of the Sampras and Federer fanboys. Since Sampras didn't win it... and Federer was fortunate to win it one time... they don't call it a real slam. Of course, if you go back to before Sampras, there were lots of all time/fast court greats who actually pushed hard to win it.

Before Sampras, having "all-court skills" was nowhere near as impressive as having "all-surface" skills. That's why Borg's achievements were so incredible. As were the professionals before the Open Era who could not call themselves all-time-greats unless they were skilled on all surfaces.

Just goes to prove Nadal is lucky to be the healthiest player on tour, the media narratives of his injury notwithstanding.

You don't show that kind of consistency if you have any serious injuries.

Name one Fed fan here who has ever said the FO isn't a "real slam." Post the link, please.

This is just simply something you pulled out of your ass, just as your contention that Fed was "fortunate" to win it in 2009.

Oh please. You guys have relegated the French Open to being a second-class slam for YEARS. Jeezus. From all the posts where you guys say Wimbledon is the most prestigious... HC is in the middle of prestigious... to the French being the least prestigious. How many times have you guys called it the "worst slam"? Then, you guys b1tch about clay being such a predominant surface -- even though HC is equally represented. Then to all the posts where you guys complain about the grinding nature of clay court tennis compared to grass court tennis. I'm not digging up all of those posts. Because even if I did, you aren't going to own up to it anyways. Complete waste of time.

If your boy didn't dominate it... then it either ain't real tennis or it ain't worth dominating. That is the Federer fan's MO. Doesn't matter if we talk about Olympics or the French Open or the four-slams-in-a-row or the head-to-head against Federer's greatest rival.

The only fans more delusional than Federer fans are Djokovic fans. Nadal fans can't even reach that level of delusion because every time their favorite player gets on a roll and they start deluding themselves, he ends up sitting out with injury for six months. Nadal fans never have enough contiguous time to reach a gutter-level of delusion.

Amazingly I was about to like a post of yours and then you went and spoilt it all with the final paragraph. Oh well, maybe next time. :)
