The latest controversy between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova is delicious from my point of view.

I remember after Monica Seles got stabbed she ripped Steffi Graf in the press saying Graf is a fraud and a phony. Monica said Steffi only met her once at the Hamburg hospital for a few minutes and couldn't even "get me a get well card."

This is why women tennis is more interesting than men's tennis by miles.

The women are real they aren't fake they speak their mind and they speak about each other.

There is polite false modesty by the top women LOVE IT!

One of the things I LOVE about women's tennis is how the top women are NOT FAKE.

Sharapova and Serena hate each other, Agnieszka Radwanska can't stand Sharapova or Azarenka.

Azarenka hates Sharapova with a passion.

Serena and Sloane don't get along neither do Serena and Jelena Jankovic.

But on the ATP Tour the top 4 are take, the male tennis players are false, they hide how they really feel about each other.

I always thought the top male players actually have a general respect and admiration for each other. Some seem to have congenial relations off the court (like Rafa-Murray, Rafa-Fed). When they get in epic 5-set matches, it usually ends with a big emotional (sometimes heartbroken) hug.

I agree that their pressers and on-court interviews are very by-the-book and neutral, but other than Fed-Novak, I haven't noticed much animosity at all, and even Fed and Novak's spat was very low-key.

And what the hell was Graf suppose to do. Seles blamed Graf for the stabbing. No matter what Graf did Seles was always going to blame her. Sorry but Graf was never a phony. I think it's horrible what happened to Seles, but Graf wasn't the one holding the knife. She was for Seles being placed at number 1 when she came back, and wanted to even help Seles get back on tour, but realized that Seles would never accept it from her.

Why care about what either the men or the women do off the court?

As long as they are producing good tennis I could care less.

Lately the women at the top have not been delivering, with the exception of Serena.
