I'm sure some of you were paying attention, but for those who weren't there were some major upsets in doubles today coming from a few young americans

Max Mirnyi BLR (1), Daniel Nestor CAN (1) lose to Steve Johnson USA, Jack Sock USA

1-6 7-6 6-2

Mariusz Fyrstenberg POL (4), Marcin Matkowski POL (4) lose to Christian Harrison USA, Ryan Harrison USA

7-6 2-6 7-6

Michael Llodra FRA (7), Nenad Zimonjic SRB (7) lose to Nicholas Monroe USA (okay so admittedly he's 30), Donald Young USA

5-7 6-3 6-4

Besides them, Brian Baker and Rajeev Ram beat Martin Emmrich and Igor Sijsling 2-6 6-1 7-6, Santiago Gonzalez (MEX) and Scott Lipsky (USA) beat Robin Haase and Andreas Seppi 6-2 6-3, and Eric Butorac (USA) and Paul Hanley (AUS) beat Jan Hajek and Lukas Lacko 7-5 6-3

So, not a single american has lost in mens doubles yet.

He actually took a set off of Mirnyi and Nestor in the first round of Wimbledon and has won more doubles matches this year than singles matches (though he only played 10 doubles matches and played 24 singles matches)

By the way, Donald played Llodra and Zimonjic in the first round of the Australian Open and lost 6-7 3-6

Whoa...Mirnyi and Nestor lost??? Looks like another slam for the Bryan brothers then. Mirnyi and Nestor are the only ones who seem to beat them.

Great day for US tennis, even if its dubs !
Nice to see the young guns teaming up to get some big upsets.
Todays results really increases the chances of a mens US open title for a US team :)

I saw those results and was pretty surprised, especially by Sock/Johnson taking out #1 seeds. Great job by all those guys. Now if they can just keep it going!

Now I know why almost everyone around asks me to play doubles :)

Wait... Jack Sock it's still in the singles... I'm hoping he will go past 2-nd round!

Sock must be a helluva doubles player. Remember he won mixed here with Oudin last year.

MORE SOCK TV COVERAGE PLEASE

They may get mixed doubles too. Rajeev Ram is playing with Sloane Stephens.
