Outspoken uncle of Rafa says again.

'At first it wasn't like this, then they grew up,' revealed Toni, that also added how the rivalry with Djokovic pushed Rafa to improve more than the one with Roger Federer.'

Also, Toni talks about the rivalries of Rafa:

''With Federer it was always something particular, because it was Nadal's first big rivalry.

With Djokovic it was tougher sometimes, when at the top of the rankings there were the strongest players: Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray. I like to see them at the top again.'At Wimbledon Rafa has chances to be world no.'

Sounds to me with Federer, it was all about attacking his backhand. :)

As a Djokovic fan, that was a painful moment. Novak didn't handle that maturely, Nadal clearly didn't mean to do that. Sometimes it just happens.

As a Nadal fan I can tell you that, regardless of whether he intended to do that or not, he wouldn't have come up to the net, if there wasn't a chance to cash on Novak's disappointment.

Nadal/Djokovic rivalry has always been better than Nadal/Federer.

I could go into a Nadal/Djokovic match knowing my opponent (Djokovic) doesn't have a lot of weaknesses for Nadal to exploit so he'll have to work his ass off to do it, I would be intrigued to see how it would play out, it would be a toss up, never clear cut.

90% against Federer I knew Nadal would demolish Federer's backhand and exploit his weakness whereas Federer has no game plan to exploit Nadal. It was predictable due to Nadal being a better Tennis player technically than Federer.

the match was awesome peakdal vs primeovic:D

Lol that was a intense moment between never forgot
A week before montreal Srdjan said Nadal is not friends with djokovic anymore because he was owning him in 2011
We expected to see a cold handshake from djokovic (winning or losing) But he 4 gave him & they were friends again :D

Toni Nadal did not say that "Now Rafa and Djokovic are friends..."

They have had a friendly relationship, but they haven't been friends. There was a time when Rafa and Djoko had the same PR Manager and their teams had good relationships at work (= ATP Tour). Later, Djoko hired another PR person. I remember Djoko's father complaining that Rafa's team didn't want them to be friends :rolleyes:and Djoko saying (in 2011): "I can't be mates with Andy and Rafa while we're fighting for a place in history." They aren't friends, they aren't enemies. :)

Actually I always thought this was the match where they seemed to get closer after the net incident. It was like sort of a crescendo moment where things boiled over a bit in respect of the tension between them. They seemed ok at USO and since then I have noticed more warmth in handshakes. They were close before Djokovic became the legend that he is and perhaps it took Nadal a while to adjust to a true rival in the sense that unlike Federer Djokovic wasn't a guy he grew up admiring.

Wonder if Federer and Djokovic will ever get a bit closer . It's great to see rivalries but I don't like seeing ATGS years after their careers end have feuds. Sampras and Agassi is tragic especially as they fell out over tipping and McEnroe and Connors are being childish.

Now in the autumn of careers I suspect there is more warmth. They were very cordial in Madrid during a practice session .

Neither has tennis as a priority . Can't imagine they would not be relatively friendly given their titanic battles.

Rafafans (can't even address them properly, can you), I am a hundred times truer fan of the Nadal, because I understand him as a player, than bots that have no clue, but live vicariously via the lowest gossips that puts their idol on some sort of pedestal.

You have proved a zillion times that you are a true Rafa hater.

A pity for you that times change. Was the joy amplified for you as you watched the old man out-rally Nadal, and punctuate said rallies with crisp BH winners down the line? Nadal savored many a vapor trail on that day, as he absorbed yet another big L down in Australia.

It has been a while since he defeated RF. Perhaps now that three full years have elapsed, the time is now? Then again, perhaps not. :(

Djokovic vs Nadal both in prime form was very difficult to choose winner but just felt Rafa is abit better however only 3 or 4 points could decide match so luck was important on both sides whereas against Federer Nadal only went to his weaker backhand to exploit him however Federer backhand isn't as weak no more

Rafans! @Tennis_Hands is not a Rafa fan. He is his hater (aka a Fed worshiper).

Djokovic senior hates Federer the most but I recall him saying when Rafa was winning against my son they were friends but when my son was beating him in 2011 especially Rafa hated my son that's what Djokovic father said

Well Djokovic senior he's won 2 slams this year what has your son won ??? Jack s..t

Yet both at their prime couldn't stop 31 yo GOAT from winning the W and also becoming No1.

How should he have handled it? "No, Rafa dont worry great play!"

It was what it was. The textbook play from Rafa, go to the body when he's got no angle, wins the point. What was Novak gonna do? You're p¡$$ed, you just got drilled good, Rafa did the classy thing of apologizing, Novak turned his head, yeah, he was angry at the moment. Move on. Point over, let the fanboys keep talking about it in years to come.

Its part of the game, its ok to be angry at the moment, but you let it go. I've never heard Djokovic talk about that point, ever. Has he? I dont think so........

In the end they all will get sick of each other at some point, and after they are all retired, laugh together in dignitary spots at tournaments. Djo will have a seat behind Raf and Fed, but he'll still be there in row two.

Surprise that is why they are called the Big Four! It is just a game and all four of them are friends or at least friendly acquaintances and respect each other more than we can know.
I don't hate the Nadal.

(well I do, but it is like hating the personification of the evil in the world)

respect the champions that's what I do
Federer my favourite Nadal second

Note how, when Djokovic turns his back on Nadal, the Nadal makes a grimace and a gesture.

Nadal was not doing it for Djokovic. It is a calculated circus, just like it was when he threw an arm around Federer's arms a while back.

The Nadal is the ultimate gamesman (well, Tio really, but we know that that is the same thing).

Djokovic knows this.

:(

They are not friends.

The closest thing to what they are is business partners.

They do what is good for business and friendliness seems to be en vogue at the moment.
