If England reaches the world cup final...

Should Wimbledon

Another poll just for fun regarding the apparently bad timing of the men's final with the world cup final. The football is being scheduled 2 hours after the start of the wimbledon final. Needless to say, unless the match were to be extremely one sided, this is insufficient time for fans to watch both uninterrupted. What should the wimbledon authorities do? :)

If it's a Fedal final (which is most likely), then fans will most likely have two simultaneous screens on. No big deal.

if Roger is there then as long as The Fidgeter or The Bouncer don't hold him up too much the match'll be over in an hour and a half, so no worries.

I don't think so, I'd do this for two matches I'm not so attached to e.g. Croatia vs France and Federer vs Nishikori for example.

If England are in the final, I'm exclusively watching that and will rewatch the final depending on reviews of the match at a later date.

I hope they just move the Wimbledon final to 12pm and it will be a great day to look forward to.

There's no overlap between the two crowds:

I am watching both simultaneously regardless of who is playing both finals, should they overlap.

Basically the same here, except in reverse. Have to go get my son at the train station (which is more than two hours away), arrival scheduled at 3:30pm, so I'll be missing both. Fun times. :D

If England win, then I'm afraid it will be very embarrassing for the AELTC as viewing figures will be dreadful and half the crowd will have sneaked out to watch it elsewhere. England in a WC final is a once in a lifetime event. Not saying we will win against Croatia, but when would we likely see this again?

Wimbledon is screwed if England beat Croatia.
I'm sure the crowd will still be full and people that do, I envisage won't leave at 4pm (face value is £210!) but I imagine viewing figures will be hit massively.

In the UK, the BBC will be showing both, but I doubt it will be the same elsewhere.

Also it's not even just an English thing, globally football is bigger than tennis and for many I imagine the world cup final, regardless of who makes either is priority.

Where is the option :- *IDGAF about football*

They (the British) will obviously watch the WC Final since the tourney itself is once every years and more than anything, England reaching the finals seems to be a once every 50+ years event. Wimbledon happens every year anyways.

You don't reschedule just because somebody else's party 'clashes' for the first time in hardly ever. If you do then you shouldn't really be organiser since you failed to understand it's not something you fit in when you can with other people's events.

We haven't reached the final yet.

Reaching the semis is a once every 25 years event, for sure.

I can't really vote on the poll since I don't agree with any of the options entirely.

They should ignore it and schedule the final as normal.

If it's Federer vs Nadal in the final and if England wins tomorrow, all the bars in London will be packed on Sunday. It'll be declared a National holiday.
