Awesome thanks... Looking good suba.. can't wait for your review and how it compares to Thor.. just before you smash it, consider us potential buyers ;-)
Same mold ;) different construction

I will resist my TC95 tonight and grab ASL for my match. I will try to give it more time next few days to assess it more.
Could you please compare it with TC100 a bit more? Do you feel like it’s better to customize ASL3 up to preferred specs, compared to ordering TC100?

Could you please advise which string worked well in K7 Red for you? I’m looking for soft and spin friendly poly options.

I’m really trying to like the frame but it’s a bit lifeless in stock, or it might be just the string...
Initially I strung mine with Halo1.
And apparently I’ll need to add some lead and leather grip as well.
Thanks!

PS: as of now TC97 is my favorite it really shines after I added some lead @12, 3 and 9, K7 Lime stock follows it. Both strung with Halo2

Had the same problem with K7 red I had first batch and later batch frames, both seriously lacked plow at standard weight. Tried and failed adding weight, I just couldn’t get it to perform as well as my TC97 16x19. Still use a K7 red for feeding when coaching and for a bit of social tennis, it’s sublime around the net.
Interesting that you added weight to TC97, I play mine stock and it’s solid.

It’s very light in stock form so I had to add weight and make it more playable for me. With weight, leather grip and OG, it is now 334g and 32.3cm or around 6.5HL. Compares extremely well to TC100 although I still need to hit more with it. Power is there, heavy spin but also adjusting trajectory seems to come easier and I like the flex feel between the RA 63 and 70

Hi everyone. Thinking about getting the Angell TC95 63 16x19 but have a few questions. How does this compare against various Volkls that I’ve used in past (I gravitate to Volkls as they play soft and don’t have beams that are too thick). I’m now in my 60s, play a lot of dubs (good club / match player level) and have an all court game and quick reactions for my age. I can’t hit with the same power levels as 20 years ago (the joys of older age!) but rely on shorter angles, constructing points and finishing off with volleys. Elbow can be prone to injuries so racquets must be soft. Current stick is Volkl Super G V1 Pro, which I quite like, but because it’s more evenly balanced, I can’t get the quick mid court ‘up and over’ topspin whip I used to get with older Volkls like the PB10 Mid and perhaps the Organix models which I also used.

I’ve hit briefly with the Angell TC97 but found the flex a bit distracting (reminded me of Volkl C10 Pro, not as noodley perhaps), and a TC100 70RA which was nice, but I preferred the softer/muted feel of the Volkls. So... I know the TC95 63 would be soft, but is the flex different from the TC97 which I didn’t like too much? I’m also after reasonable ‘free’ (controlled) power at my age and something stable to deal with heavy volleys (I play a lot with much younger guys who can really turn up the heat). Current string choice is Volkl Cyclone Tour in a thin gauge (one of the few polys that don’t kill my arm). Sorry for long post, but don’t want to order and end up making a big mistake, hence any comparisons to my current types of racquets would be great. Thanks!

I don't think the TC95 feels flexy or noodly. Feels crisper than its RA value would let you believe.
A solid thumper that one.
But it worries my a bit about your elbow though... Völkl is to my knowledge a manufacturer of "comfortable" racquets.

Stay with Völkl (There must be knowledgeable Völkl enthusiasts here who should be able to point you in the right direction) or perhaps have a look at Prince.

I say this despite personally playing with the TC95 and K7.

I believe @Backhanded Compliment is a former Völkl evangelist (now flourishes the TC95 with great enthusiasm) and will most likely weigh in here with the pro's and cons of the two brands.

You wont't find what you are looking for in the TC95. It flexes completely different than TC97. A lot of us prefer the TC95 uniform flex over the TC97 flex. Tc97 is more stable. TC95 imho does feel softer than the TC97, but according to a lot of people it plays firmer than its Ra would suggest. I am also a little concerned that the racket might be too demanding for you. It has power, very good power, but it doesnt come free. It needs proper kinetic chain.

The specs of my ASL are as follows:
(Unstrung/Strung)
297g/315g
320mm/330mm
SW285/SW314
RA69/RA67
Grip size L4

These are stock specs, but I am not even bothering to play it stock, I will add weight in the hoop to boost the SW, Angell hybrid grip, overgrip, and apparently some weight under the trap door. That should get me to around 345g/315mm and SW326 to begin with.
And I love the new colors.

Thanks. But I said I wasn’t too keen on TC97 flex so do hope the TC95 flexes differently. Also when I said it would be nice to have a bit of free power, I didn’t mean I want an easy pusher’s racquet. I have solid strokes but don’t generate the same racquet speed I used to many years ago. So something solid with decent plowthrough without having to swing madly, but I still can occasionally rip a big shot. I used to use a Volkl PB10 (93 sq in) and loved it (and still could play with it), but moved to something a little more forgiving. I loved the sharp angles I could carve out with the PB10 and that’s the kind of thing I’d look towards an Angell racquet to help with, so long as it brought other things into my game as mentioned.

MCN, I would consider TC100 63RA if you liked 70RA version. :)

And that’s a possibility, but when I tried the 70RA version (briefly) it was just ‘nice’ but not nice enough to consider a change. Would the 63RA play significantly differently?

TC95 flexes very uniformly and hits with excellent authority. It is not super forgiving but for a 95 size head pretty good. The 63RA is the better volley stick and has better overall feel. It is also a serve monster and pretty damned good for an all court game.

Are the SW’s under control now with the Tc 95/100 63ra’s? High percentage were pretty hefty a while back.

So i just ordered the TC 95 18x20 330 grams/10pts HL/63 RA/27.25 inch length/Leather Grip

Cant wait to try it. I ordered this morning. How long does it usually take for them to ship out the racquet?

After a few more sessions, I think I will most likely to use the Tc100 as my main stick.
I am very intrigued with the new ASL, so waiting for more review before deciding if I “need” one too. Lol

It took about a week, maybe 8days, to dispatch. Shipping was fast - couple of days to US.

I would say 63 version is more control oriented (but still very powerful). Less free power, less loopy shots, better feel, better ability to hit flat.

I think they are pretty busy right now. New ASL, Lime. I placed my order early on Tuesday and status ir still "processing". Strange thing that USA clients receives their sticks quicker than EU clients. :)

Hi people...

Anyone knows if Tc 100 16x19 is a string breaker racquet (like prince beast100)?

I thinking about tc100 tour 16x19 ra67...

Have this tc100 tour good power and spin? Like what Babolat racquet for example?

Tks so much again

I think for TC frames it’s fair to say the processing takes around a week because of so many weight and balance options. K7 and ASL will be shipped the same or next day given they are in stock. Once the racquet ships it really depends on how big of a network hub for curriers each destination is. US and German customers usually get it overnight. Destinations like yours and mine... we have to be patient :)

I played a match last night with the ASL and hit with it again this morning. It is a very good racquet that bombs serves with easy access to heavy spin. The compromises between the ASL and my TC95s are very predictable with more forgiveness and a bit easier power vs more precision and touch. It takes a bit of time to start dialing in given comfort with TC95. I will not be trying Black Night in this frame as it is too soft for this head size. I think a more crisp string like BBO is more suitable. I also found an amazing TW deal on Tour XC 1.35g 10 pack so will try to close out the wider string spacing with thicker gauge string for more control/precision. I do like the feel and more friendly nature of the launch angle vs the TC100. It is a firmer feel with good feedback. I will play the ASL again in tomorrow’s USTA match.

To be honest, I’m just not able to juggle three different racquets in my playing time so k7 red has been sitting in the bag. Certainly different racquets with the K7 having more whippy flexy open pattern and the ASL having a bit more of a tweener playability albeit pretty comfy

Lime review
How do other Lime users see this? It might be just me, but I really dont notice a lack of power in the stock Lime. I have it strung at 20/19 Kgs and find it pretty powerfull. Have to take full swing to keep the ball in.

How did you guys customize your lime? I find it amazing that you can play at such high static and swingweights.

Did anyone play head Lynx green or yonex poly tour pro yet in the lime?

In stock condition I thought the K7 Lime too flimsy and not powerful enough. However it depends on what you're used to. I am used to heavier frames like my TC95 63RA 18x20 12pts HL 330gr unstrung (with 4 grams lead at 10-11 and 1-2. I posted pictures of this earlier into this thread).
That's why I added a lot of lead to my K7 Lime. Strung with Head RIP Control 1.20mm and MSV CoFocus 1.18mm, Oehms Premium leather and Yonex SG overgrip and Pacific O dampener it is now 350 grams total with a balance of 32.4 cm. Still more maneuverable than with TC95 but a lot more solid and it is easier to hit deep baseline strokes as well with the higher balance.
The feel is very nice and a bit more muted than the TC95. It reminds of the feel of my Völkl C10 Pro as well.

Mine is 350g as well, after adding leather grip, some tungsten tape and overgrip. In stock form it felt too light for me as my TC95 is about 348g. With some added weight it’s very stable, maneuverable, with controllable power.
