Go Card. Women's team trying to keep the streak alive.
As I've said before, they need to just have Lele Forood coach both the men's and women's teams. She is a great coach and has done amazing things for that program and won even with some mediocre recruiting years. She would improve the men's team's results for sure.

I have not seen much mediocre recruiting for the Stanford women. Based on TRN polls of recruiting classes:

2013: #1
2014: No scholarships available
2015: #1
2016: #2
2017: #4
2018: #9

All you need is a rolling 4-year average here. If all you do one year is sign a couple of good players for the 5 and 6 positions, that is fine if you got great players for the 1-4 positions in other years.

They are indeed slower than a lot of other college venues, including Athens and Winston-Salem. That and the heat will certainly be variables.

Welp, no Isner-type bombers on the UF team (with the possible exception of Perez, who plays a big serve-big forehand game) and certainly used to the central FL weather! Take any advantage you can get against other top teams...

This is sounding more and more like a Wake vs Texas final.....OSU will be slowed down too much, UVA won't get past Wake, and UF may not even make it past Baylor on those courts....I would put money on Wake at this point...

I have spoken to many coaches who have played there and their most common response: they play extremely fair

They tell me big hitters can do very well as the ball can go through the court, while grinders can also do well due to the sheer size (the amount of room behind the baseline and between courts is very generous)

For comparison sake: the coaches all felt Lake Nona will play faster than UGA/WS/Tulsa

I'm no expert, but I employed the highly scientific eyeball test and in comparison to the last two venues, they look slower to me. They are probably speeding up as they age a little, so I will yield to the coaches.

These courts maybe recently re-surface. New courts tend to be slower because sand on top comes off as the courts are used and become slightly faster as time goes on.

I forgot about this, but Stanford men can still win the NCAA championships this year. Off the Stanford press:

Stanford sophomore Axel Geller and freshman Alexandre Rotsaerthave been selected to compete in the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships later this month.

Is this the annual “my men’s team ended up being #### and not living up to my wild predictions, so let’s spam the board with a bunch of garbage about the women’s team and individual tourney”

Geller is terrible, he should come play in some of our local USTA adult leagues instead of NCAAs, we’ll make a spot for him

UVA losing the momentum - and at least 4 first sets - cannot overestimate keeping scoreboard pressure on a favored team like WF

TCU drops the dubs point. Hard to see them winning at this point. They should have taken one dub, but some poor play from Rybakov IMO. Grey played well, but it wasn't enough. Grey V Ito should be a fun match.

how am I supposed to watch 4-5 matches across two NCAA quarters, plus ATP at Rome, and work at the same time??? ideas? :)

Petros might be a little tight. 3 times since I've started watching now he has stopped moving assuming that his shot was going long only for it drop in and then be way out of position for the next shot, allowing Nakashima to finish it off easily.

I'm having a problem that is probably just a computer thing but maybe someone can help, when I click on live stats it pulls up a page of all the scores, but the display is such that I'm only seeing 2/3rds of the screen. I'm sure there is an easy fix but can someone advise ?

I zoomed out on the screen to make everything smaller. Don't know any other fix.

Texas with five first sets, most of them tight but UT playing smarter tennis when it counts late in sets, very deep and composed team

I know I’m late to the party believing in them, but having seen them in person today, they’re every bit as much of a title contender as WF/OSU/UF - I was wrong judging them from afar
