I was being a bit harsh there. Frustrated because real life isn't like football manager. All Ed Woodward gets to do in my game is renew contracts while I go and buy players I want. Back to reality. He sounds positive and optimistic so that is all good. 20 goals for Sanchez easy.
But seriously, time for Ole to make his mark. I don't really care if other clubs laugh at the fee of Maguire if he comes and becomes the man at centre back.

I'm not sure what to make of Maguire. He's pretty good, but I think people are still judging him from the World Cup where he became a bit of a cult hero. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if he becomes the next Stones/Jones. A reputation for being talented, only a matter of time before they make a move to a big club etc.. But they don't really have the ceiling people expected them to have.
Maybe he'll work out, wherever he goes. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be just a decent starter for a top 4 side though.

So, me and my mate were talking. Supposed to go to Spiderman with him and it has been cancelled 3 times now. lol We don't see each other much so randomly he said that we're going to see Man Utd vs Burnley in January. I was like, yeah, why not. I haven't been to a game since 2014 or maybe it was late 2013, the ugly City game, raining too. Can only hope United are worth a watch by the time we get there. I quite prefer this over an early season game. Hope we are competing and not fighting for top 10 position.

I think you're right about playing time next season. Usually it would be all signs point to the Coca Cola cup, providing we manage to stay in it next season. Now that Greenwood has scored a couple we can expect more charts telling us how we do better without Rashford in the starting 11.

Coca Cola Cup. Now that’s a blast from the past! I think that’s probably a trophy that will mean more for United next season. Liverpool and City are in another universe, and probably will be for at least a couple more years. The rest need to rebuild and retool so they’re in a position to take advantage when their standards slip.
Kind of like in F1 where teams are looking to 2021 when the rule changes come into effect. Same with the NFL with someone like the Dolphins looking to tank this season so they’re well stocked in a couple of years time when Brady will of probably retired.
Getting better is one thing, timing it right is the key.

Sounds like you must of put an end to his playing career, clearly couldn’t strike it like you although to be fair to him, I imagine it’s tough to do in full chain mail wielding a sword and shield. Whoever thought of that kit idea needs firing.

China are the only rumours i've heard.
I think Real Madrid have handled it so badly. For a club who live off signing the very best players in the world, it's strange. The next big name they sign now knows they'll be frozen out, sent to China etc.. if they fall out of favour. James Rodriguez has been messed around too and years later he's still in limbo.
Not really the precedent you want to be setting if you're a club who's life blood is vulturing elite players from clubs. There will come a point where players will start to think twice, especially if they're so elite that they have their pick of clubs.

It's very interesting reading about Real Madrid and Gareth Bale. He signed that deal until 2022 at 550k a week and won't leave unless it is right for the family.

Bale again. Was reading a positive report about United for once. It says we may finally be learning from mistakes. I’ve been impressed so far. Hard to tell what the football will look like, but there seems to be a clear vision and message at multiple levels (the young players being signed to long term contracts, they know they have a real chance to play key roles this season etc..). I think that’s what’s been needed for years and the fans have been desperate for it, so pointing in the right direction at last is a good feeling.
As for Pulisic, I’d heard he’s a great leader and mentally excellent. Not heard great things about him as a player though. From what I’ve seen from a limited preseason and his time with USA this summer, he’s looked incredible. Mount has been the stand out though, and Barkley has impressed. Shame they all play the same position.
But yeah, with how preseason has gone, that Man Utd v Chelsea game on opening weekend could have a couple of interesting lineups!

Been hearing the Fernandes links are mainly from Portugal and there is more chance of Maradona returning to the Argentina starting 11. Still hearing about Longstaff. He seems like the number one target.
It is all quiet on the western front with Maguire at the minute. Leicester have come out and said they don't have to sell blah blah blah. Ole talked about patience. I'd say there is a chance. Another number one target. Just imagine that for a minute. That would be 4 this summer. But not getting ahead of myself. Don't think the window is done with 2, so we just gotta wait. The usual.
