Should be an interesting match - the worst clay court player on the tour (now that Rusedski has retired) against the ex-champ with no confidence.
Gaudio should prevail.
Not sure about that, roddick did make the quarters last year on clay and got injured... Worst claycourters i would've thought were the likes of blake, ljubo & Karlovic... I know ljubo did well at RG last year but i think that was a fluke that won't be repeated...

Ljubicic also made the Monte Carlo semis and he's made the Hamburg semis a couple years back. And I think he's done OK on clay during Davis Cup. Besides, he likes clay. He enjoys playing on it and actually looks like a good clay-courter. I don't see Roddick pushing Gasquet on clay. However, Roddick has had his share of decent results on clay. So has Blake, beating Almagro is no small feat. Karlovic has victories over Davydenko on clay. His kick serve really jumps on the surface. I would say the worst players on clay are Vince Spadea and Mardy Fish.
wrong about Spadea and clay,he's actually the best american player on clay and by clay I don't mean the green crap they use in Houston but the real clay
if Spadea had a weak draw at any clay court tournament in the world I would bet $ he would go home with the trophy
as for Fish can't make a definitive conclusion on him since I've rarely seen him play on red clay but from what I've seen he reminds me of a male Davenport on clay,scary :lol:

Rome has not treated my picks well at all. I can't believe the one Argentinian I don't care much for (Chela) has gone through to the quarters. Maybe I'll have more luck for the French?
