Wait a minute says ATP. Can't break the Slam record if you can't play any Slams LMAO.

But what Djokovic is really saying is that he thinks that the tour will suck for at least 2 more years. If actual future ATG's show up they will shred the big 3.

The actual good young players on the womens side seemed like they were never coming. They finally did the last 2 years. They aren't super consistent of course, but atleast they are there now. Surely the mens can't be that far behind (hopefully).

While looking up Djokovic quotes, I came up with this gem from 2008:

And people call Fed arrogant?

It may come off as arrogant but rings true, if he said this. He's basically openly challenging Federer, and he did the same to Nadal once, and saying you won't dominate me like you did those other guys. It's great and good for the sport, and obviously worked since look where he is now. That's if he even said this since the only source seems to be dailymail which is a UK tabloid.

I don't care how many records Nole breaks, my number one is Fed, my number two Rafa and number three Sampras.

If he can do it, he’s the GOAT. To come from 17 to over whatever Fed will end with (presumably 20-21) and Nadal doesn’t end up with More, Djoker will be the GOAT. But odds are (hopefully) Nadal ends up with the most.

It's too hard to predict with any certainty,we have never had a situation like this before where potentially a year is erased from the tennis calendar. Do the big 3 just pick up where they left off? Or could we have a situation like 2011 where Djokovic suddenly went from the clear 3rd wheel to being the dominant player? Maybe a guy like Thiem or Tsitsipas has worked out some things over the break and they just come out and dominate the tour, who knows...

Same goes for Fed pretty much every time he's been called arrogant.

But we don't like when players are actually honest. We prefer them to give mundane non-answers and then complain about how they have no personality ;)

or be like Humbleito "I am not the favorite for the French Open, I am maybe 3rd or 4th favorite, even though I have won it 100 times and all but 1 of the last 10 years, no."

I have Sampras as equal to Federer. It's not all about the Slam count.

I'm a big Pete fan but don't see how he can be regarded as equal to Federer, when the latter has 6 more slams (including the FO which Pete never reached the final of), one more YEC, about 30 more weeks at No 1, about 40 more titles, and much better longevity.

The one thing Pete has in his favour is six consecutive years ranked as No 1 (and I'm glad he still holds one big record), but that's nowhere near enough to overcome the above.

As soon as one of the younger players actually steps up at slam level, Djokovic will find that his goal will slowly slip away and there will be nothing he can do about it.

I doubt very much that Djokovic ever said what is written here for many reasons. This is coming from a BeatlesFan who is a poster used to post unreliable information. I ask anyone who can find original of this statement to come forward.
Fed showed him LOL

Djokovic knows he can never catch Rafa and Federer, so he's talking about it instead.
That's what losers do - talk.
He's been in 3rd place forever....

A little on the arrogant side, yes. Of course, you'd need to provide citations because I can't find the source anywhere.

It does seem like something young Djokovic would say, though.

That's not a real quote it's made up, anyone can send anything in to that site. Obviously Novak never said that, the wording is nothing like Novak's English in 2008.

It's not the first inaccurate info from that poster unfortunately.
